About This Listing
Sunny single family home in the warmth of Potrero Hill. Easy distance to 18th street, 22nd in the Dogpatch, down town by light rail, and the Mission. Its a quiet get away in the middle of a busy city.
This is my home. A small single family house in Potrero. I live here with my four year old daughter. Its not a rental usually, but when we travel for long periods I list it out. It is warm, full of light, and intimate. Easy access to the restaurants and shops on both 18th street and 22nd in the Dogpatch.
Guests are welcome to use the bedroom, kitchen, refridgerator, all my pots and pans etc, the TV (no cable, but I have a DVD player), my stereo, the closet, my books, and the backyard.
Interaction with Guests
None. I will not be in town. Its all yours.
Poterro is great. Thw warmest neighborhood in SF. You will be on the Bay side of the slope, with a small view of Dogpatch and Bayshore. 18th street in Potrero is a 5 minute walk, if that, with tons of restaurants, and shops. And you are 5 minutes in the other direction from 22nd street in the Dogpatch. There you have more restaurants, bars, gyms, and the route to Giants' Stadium and Soma.
Cal train is few blocks away (underground, so no noise, 22nd street stop). The 22 and 48 buses go right near, and you can walk to the 3rd street light rail which drops you at the Stadium, or the Embarcadero.
Other Things to Note
Parking on the street is easy and plentiful.
This place was amazing and everything that I could have wanted from my experience. It was in an unbelievable part of town, with fantastic spots all over the neighborhood. The house was clean and Michael's communication and instructions were perfect. This was the first time I had stayed on Airbnb, and the experience at his apartment sold me not only on his apartment, but on San Francisco and the very idea of home sharing. If I were to sit down and try to write down something that could have been better during my stay, I would find myself, hours later, staring at a blank piece of paper.
I would definitely recommend staying here.
Quiet and safe lovely house for a family with a kid (beware of the stairs if you have a toddler, our son was ok as he knows not to go too close to the stairs).
Our host went abroad for vacation too, but we kept in touch by mail and always had very fast answers from him.
Nice experience to live in a house in a big city !
Had a great experience staying at Michael's apartment. It was very clean, comfy, and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.

About the Host, Michael
I was a military kid growing up, and to date have never lived anywhere longer than four years. SF is my home now. I left patent litigation to join RPX Corp and do business development. Its been a fun ride. I have a two year old daughter, who I hope will spend a year in Costa Rica before she enters school. Her Spanish is already about as good as mine.
The house I listed is the end result of a 12 year Odyssey that began with negotiating land rights in high school Spanish in Nicoya, and ended with my dream house in Costa Rica with law school, law firms, New York, Pensacola, Boston and SF in between.
