Interaction with Guests
You will reccieve the key from us or another person.
Just outside the house is the large and leafy Vitabergsparken where there are beautiful preserved 19th century cottages, and in the center the magnificient Sofia church. We recommend to bring a picnic basket and sit down in the grass beside the church for a spectacular view over the rooftops of Södermalm. Don't miss the Park Theatre that has free concerts and shows during the summer. If you are bringing children there is a popular playground here inside the park. It's 100 meters to the local Coop foodstore that has a deli. There are several pubs, bars and resturants very close to the house, but we recommend that you walk 500 meters to Nytorget with its many trendy bars, clothing stores, cafe's and an amazing icecream store. Södermalm is a very hip neighbourhood with a rich cultural life, several bathing spots in the fresh waters surrounding our island, cinemas, theathers, and many, I mean MANY resturants and bars, you can find it all here.
From Arlanda, take the Arlanda express or the local commuter train to Stockholm C, at Stockholm C take bus 53 and get off at Ersta Sjukhus. If you take the local commuter train you may also get off at Stockholm södra and switch to bus 66; get off at Erstagatan if you do this. You can also park in the neighbourhood if you can find a spot. From the apartment there's 100 m to bus 2 which is one of the four blue buses of Stockholm. The blue buses leaves around every third minute during daytime, and this bus will take you to Slussen, Old town, Stureplan etc. You have around 200 meters to bus 53 which will take you to the Central station and bus 71 that will take you to Slussen. If you walk down from the mountain (a seven minute walk but it's a beautiful panoramic walk among small cottages) you end up at Londonviadukten where you can access the buses to the islands east of Stockholm and here is also the ferry terminal to Finland.
Other Things to Note
If you love nature, do visit Nackareservatet, (take bus 401 towards Älta) and do a hike in the protected wilderness. If you wish to go jogging there are many trails you can take from our house, either jog through Hammarby Sjöstad towards Hammarbybacken (the ski hill you see from our window), or why not run to the old prison island Långholmen where there is a very nice little beach for swimming.
There are several other bathing spots on Södermalm. Tantolunden, Årstaviken are two others we recommend. Stockholm has very clean water so you can actually swim in the middle of the city.
If you wish to go shopping instead, there are a lot of trendy stores within just 5 minutes walking distance. Our favourite restaurant in the neighbourhood is the japanese restaurant Blue Light Yokohama, where you need to book a table. We also recommend you visit the skybar "Och himlen därtill" which is on the top floor of Skrapan very close to Medborgarplatsen (T); they have amazing drinks here.
If you are a music fan you have the legendary Pet Sounds bar, Harvest home and Nada bar in the area and it takes no more than 10 minutes to walk home from there.
Pets and smoking is not allowed, please respect the neighbours and don't play music after 10 PM.
Be gentle with the plants in the courtyard. Cleaning is mandatory upon departure. Leave the apartment in the condition that you yourself would like to find it in.
This apartment is in a good location at the edge of a great neighbourhood. Fantastic public transit is a 10 min walk away. Local bus on a couple blocks away. Appreciated how Astrid was in regular and helpful contact with us during our stay.
Great location in a nice part of this wonderful town. Astrid and Magnus have a nice flat with all what you need to feel well. While our weekend we felt welcome and though they were not in Stockholm, they made sure, that we can always go in contact to them, if we need help.
Thank you, and best wishes Karin
Astrid's place was fantastic. The pictures accurately depict the space - it was very roomy and comfortable. The cozy apartment was a nice solace between the cold November days in Stockholm. Astrid recommended some really cool shops and restaurants and provided great information about the surrounding neighborhood of Södermalm. There were also great resources in the apartment for when we were bored - we ended up watching a movie on Astrid's Playstation by connecting my Netflix account and she also has a LOT of books! I'd highly recommend staying here.
Molto Bello! I walked so much around Stockholm and I truly believe this is one the most beautiful corner in the city, the church of Santa Sofia and those old house from the rock blasters barracks around. The neighborhood is quite and full of parks and at night you can easily walk to so many clubs and restaurants.
We really love you beautiful apartment, Grazie Astrid!
Anyway Stockholm is the city with more vintage clothing shops I ever see in my life.
We had a great time at Astrid s place. It was easy to find and she had some useful recommandations. The place was clean and cosy. We had everything we needed including a real complete kitchen. Södermalm is THE place to be. Most of the cool places were in close walking distance just like a subway station. Just ask Astrid for things to see or do! Thanks. We hope that we will come back some day.
We had a great stay at Astrid 's place. The flat is located in one of Stockholm's trendiest areas, Södermalm, with lots of nice cafés and bars : exactly what we were after. Public transport connections around Stockholm are very easy from Slussen metro station, which is only a 5-min bus ride from the flat. Magnus, Astrid's husband, handed us the keys upon our arrival and was very helpful with directions. The flat itself is spacious and quiet with a comfortable bed and everything you need to feel at home away from home :) Thanks for letting us stay ! I'll definitely be back in Stockholm, loved the city.
The host very kindly and met us at the station in order to hand over the keys. The apartment is great, neat & clean and located on Södermalm, not far from a number of bars and restaurants and only a short (20 minute) walk to Gamla Stan.
Highly recommended for someone who wants to base themselves in Söder for weekend in Stockholm.
Hi! I'm new here on Airbnb - super excited about both renting out and renting!! I'm a very social, outgoing person, married to Magnus. I am an entrepreneur and I love to create new solutions to old problems. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories, learning new things and seeing new places. I cannot live without nature; I love hiking, jogging, gardening, being in the wilderness... I used to be a DJ and my favorite genres are alternative rock, indie, synth, electro and anything retro. Love the sight of vinyl records. One of my favorite authors is John Steinbeck. Jim Jarmusch and Ingmar Bergman has made many great movies. So have the Coen brothers. I follow True Blood, Girls and MadMen. I seldom watch TV. I love smoothies and premium food which we cook from natural organic ingredients. My mission is to make guests feel that this was the best holiday in a long time. I want our home to be comfortable, tidy and visitor friendly. Why not read one of our books if you have a rainy / lazy day? I hope that this description gave you a hint of who I am.
