Hestia House - Your home away from home
Hestia is the ancient Greek goddess of the hearth, architecture, and of the right ordering of domesticity and the family.
Located on the second floor of an historical 1940's building, the charming 4-bedroom apartment boasts the following:
- a spacious rooftop deck with barbecue and deck furniture
- large kitchen with brand new appliances, double sink and all cooking implements
- recently upgraded 4-piece bathroom
- sizable dining/common area with table, chairs, bookcases, lounge area and uniquely styled buffet & hutch
- hardwood or carpet and updated fixtures
- skylight & updated lighting
- artistic touches and one-of-a-kind art throughout
- updated fire & safety features
- Bedrooms are equipped with fans but no air conditioning, however best efforts are made to keep the rooms comfortable
Probably one of the more quirky rooms you will see, The Aerie is located at the back of the apartment and was originally a sunroom extension to the apartment. Exposed-beam low-hanging ceiling, kitschy stone-look wall covering, plants and random windows add to the character and whimsy of this room.
The sleeping portion of the room is curtained off for privacy. The remainder of the space is used as my office and as the access point to the back patio. When you are sleeping in The Aerie it is off-limits to everyone else.
A comfortable single bed outfitted with fresh linens and pillows are there for your comfort. The bed has recently been upgraded with complete allergen and bedbug protection for piece of mind. Wireless internet and the common areas are at your disposal during your stay. Towels are included.
Prior to your visit, I will provide you with my unique Hestia House guide to the city - this guide includes my recommendations on where to eat, get a drink, see a show and more! These are my recommendations and you won't find this information in any published guide!
I love hosting guests from all over the world, so if you have a question about the area or even want some company, just ask!
I love my home, and I hope you will too.
Situated in the heart of the trendy Junction area, the apartment is perched above a quiet storefront and easily accessible by public transit or by car. There is a bus stop 2 doors down, $2 per night public parking for your car, and easy access to major highways and Toronto's Pearson Airport.
A 5-minute bus ride takes you to the metro station (or a 10 minute walk), and it's only 20 minutes into the downtown core of Toronto.
The Junction is one of Toronto's most vibrant communities, featuring a wide selection of restaurants, bars, bistros, shopping and coffee shops in a friendly environment. Remove yourself from the hustle and bustle of downtown and relax at one of the fine Junction establishments in the evening, or take a 15 minute walk to the beautiful High Park or Bloor West Village; another great shopping & culture spot in Toronto.
There is a real sense of community here and everything is so convenient!
The location scores an impressive 93 out of 100 "Walker's Paradise" on the walkability score on (website hidden).

Luna is Hestia House's friendly black cat. Surprisingly quiet and affectionate she is the official greeter and loves to meet new people. Don’t worry, your room is off-limits to her!
I enjoyed my stay at Lisa's. It was very comfortable and exactly as advertised. Luna was lovely and I enjoyed her visits.
very easy does it and pleasant stay. I enjoyed our conversation and the room was not too loud taking into consideration being in a vivid district. pubblic transport is convenient. a fair price.
Staying with LISA was AMAZING! For my first airbnb experience it was great! The room was fabulous and Lisa was an amazing host. The place had everything i needed plus it was so comfy and cozy. In short it was perfect!!!
Lisa was a fantastic and friendly host and made my first visit to Toronto a great experience! I also enjoyed the company of her adorable cat Luna. The room is cozy and comfortable and I would stay again in a heartbeat. An altogether wonderful place to stay in a very cool and accessible neighbourhood!
the location is perfect, the flat is wonderful.. it was really great..
It was very nice to meet the "quirky single" and her cat (as well as other B&B's/friends last week :-). And the location at "the Junction" was perfect - a great way to try "live like the locals" rather than being a tourist. And Lisa was great at suggesting things to do and places to go.
Lisa was a wonderful host, her apartment was surely quirky, comfortable and felt like home. She knew so much about the city and could direct you anywhere you would want to go. Definitely a great value for your money and in a nice location. I would surely stay here again!
Though I arrived an hour before her usual check-in time, Lisa was happy to accomodate this. Her space was prepared with fresh bedding and towels. Before arrival, she sent information on the neighbourhood and the space so that any traveller could be abreast of their surroundings. Very affordable and easily accessible.
Really happy with my stay at Lisa's house. Quiet and peaceful place in a charming neighborhood, slightly reminiscent of Park Slope (NY) or the Mile-End (Montreal). I didn't meet Lisa, but I had the chance to receive a few cuddles from her cat!
Clean and comfortable.Basic but ok.
