The space
The apartment is located on top of our garage. It is situated behind a gated area. You will share the gated area with the occupants (us).

Living room has a smart TV, couch, and wall heater. An air conditioner is not necessary for this corner of the world.

There is a full kitchen with microwave, pots & pans, kitchenware, oil, spices, Brita, coffee, tea, 4 cup coffee maker, and hot water kettle.

Bedroom has all essentials and mattress is medium firm. If you prefer a soft mattress, this may not be the place for you. Iron and ironing board.

Bathroom has all amenities - shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

We recently (3/2026) had to increase our cleaning fee from $40 to $60 per stay due to increase on our cleaner’s end. It’s a small mom & pop business that hires a few other community members. We apologize for this increase and have worked hard to keep it between $25-40 for as long as we’ve been running our AirBnB. But with rising costs and other community members not making ends meet, we had to do it. We keep none of the money and never have.

Check-out instructions so you know what you’re getting into. We’re aware some hosts have gotten out of hand with check-out expectations. No, you don’t need to feed our dogs or wash the used linens…

1. Wash dishes & leave in drying rack
2. Leave trash & recycling in the apartment as is.
3. Turn off the heat & lights.
4. Leave a window open if it’s not raining.
5. Leave the curtains open so the plants can get their sun on.
6. Message/text us when you’re out.

Guest access
The apartment and feel free to enjoy our back yard. Please be aware of of the doggy bombs. We pick-up daily but sometimes they slip right by you.

Other things to note
Our dogs are barky when you come through the gate. We usually keep them in the house when new people come around. They are both herding dogs which means they may nudge your heels or put their mouths around the back of your shoe. Neither have ever bitten anyone but the herding gene is strong in them especially our blue heeler.

Please park right in front of the gate to the apartment if that spot is available. Otherwise, feel free to block our garage doors except on Monday night. Really, you can park anywhere you want.

I’m from LA. In 2007 I moved to Humboldt because of climate change. I’ve been here since with the exception of a few years abroad. My husband, Tony, is the co-host. He’s been in Humboldt for roughly a decade. We have two cattle dogs, Ruby and Ozzie. Both will bark at you for 5 minutes straight. Ruby will knock on your door for treats. Ignore her if you like. We live in the main house and are both self-employed.
