We liked the place of Paula. It was well located with regard to the subway and there are nice restaurants, backeries and supermarkets around. The only pity was that we were with 6 adults and there were two childrenbeds and in one room just place for one bed, So unfortunately there were no 3 two-people bedrooms as Paula had told. Our daughter and my niece had to sleep with their knees up, so they could fit in the bed. My husband an I are not very tall, but if you are taller than 1.80 meters the 2-persons bed doesn't fit as well. Also after having showered in the bathroom with more than two people it seemed like a steam-room.
We really enjoyed our stay at Paula and Philip's. The hosts were really welcoming and accommodating. The only negative point is that it is probably too small for 6 adults and 1 child. Some of us had to sleep on the floor, which was not very comfortable. Otherwise, the apartment is great. It is very well located, near metro and the main tourist attractions. It was a great occasion for my family to live the true parisian experience.
We had a wonderful stay at Paula's and Philip's apartment. The location was perfect for visiting the main tourist attractions and to get to know the Marais quarter. We enjoyed it very much and would do it again.
We had a wonderful stay at Paula's place - it is perfect for a family of two adults and two children. Paula was very helpful and accommodating. The place is very well located for the metro and sight seeing, with a great boulangerie/ patisserie on the corner.
staying in paula and philippe's apartment is a true parisian experience. while it was a little cluttered for our taste (there were stacks of their stuff everywhere and there was really no place for us to put our things, so we just had to leave our suitcases on the floor in the living room, pull things out as needed, and step over them every day), it does feel like we were getting a good taste of how parisians live. paula and philippe were there to greet us and were very friendly and helpful in telling us sights near the apartment to see. we came with our 1-year-old and they very kindly provided us with lots of toys and other stuff for her to use.
the place is very close to the place de la republique which has been newly renovated so is a pretty place to sit and have a coffee. it's also close to the great shopping of the marais. and it's on a side street so was pretty quiet at night which we appreciated, because it was very hot so we had to sleep with all the windows open.
This apartment is in a great area. We walked along the rue Vieille du Temple from the apartment to the Seine and loved all the unique shops & restaurants! The apartment itself is about as small as a 3 bedroom place could be. You have to walk through one bedroom to get to the last. 5 people is about all it can hold - if more plan to stay, some will be sleeping on the floor. It was quite cluttered with stuff. Although not required, as opposed to the other 2 apartments we rented on this trip to France, no effort was made in making us feel welcome (no breakfast items in the fridge, no shampoo at our disposal, mininal counter space in the kitchen for us to use). Upon arrival, our hosts gave us a long lists of 'DON'Ts' which made us feel like we would rather not use any of their applicances, for fear that something would short circuit (as was the risk). Paula was extremely hard to reach before we left for our trip. I tried to extend our stay by 3 nights and sent her numerous emails but spent 5 weeks without hearing back from her. I had to contact the airbnb staff. We ended up booking a hotel for those extra 3 nights.
We had an excellent stay at Paula's apartment. We were a family or four - 2 parents, a 15 year old daughter, and my elderly father, and so needed to find a three bedroom apartment at a reasonable price - quite an ask for Paris! Paula's apartment fitted the bill perfectly. It was large, clean and airy, with three bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen, although we did not need to eat there as it was so close to cafes, and just a block from the metro. Paula greeted us on arrival and explained everything we needed to know and provided a really good map of Paris. Paula requires a bond of 300 Euro, and refunded it in full exactly as promised, within 2 days. This apartment was just what we needed - thank you Paula!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at Paula's centrally located Paris flat! Paula was very good about coordinating our arrival. We arrived a bit early and the place was (understandably) not completely ready, but Paula let us drop our luggage and when we returned the place looked great! Wonderful spot for a group of friends to stay and have the convenience of living in Le Marais.
The apartment was the perfect base for our Paris stay being in the very best location for easy access to the Metro but also for local amenities such as the wonderful local shops and market. I would love to have had more time to look just within the Marais as every corner we turned found new gems in the form of lovely shops and restaurants. Our hosts were very informative when welcoming us to their property and we loved feeling like we were in an authentic French family home.
Had a very nice stay at Paula's place with my family. We loved the location and she was a very welcoming host, gave us plenty of recommendations for good places to eat and drink. The whole process couldn't have been easier. The beds weren't the greatest (keep in mind two of the beds are for kids and they're really small!) but we made it work. Would recommend.
