The apartment was just as advertised, very spacious and clean with all the modern appliances that one could need. It was about a 20 min walk to the city centre, well located. Olivier was very friendly and had very thorough information about the city and the area. He walked us through all the features of the house and presented himself as available. Extremely good host and excellent place to stay. Thoroughly recommend it.
We had a great time staying in this apartment.
Olivier was very open and helpful and gave us a lot of hints and advices about city and neighbourhood.
The apartment itself is really comfortable. Cozy bedroom and a spacious living area make you wonder, maybe designers found a way to use extra dimensions to make so much room in an ordinary house ? ;)
The flat has everything a family may need. From fully-equipped kitchen to a selection of movies for a quiet evening at home.
And it has a plenty of sunlight !
Only advices (apart from "Rent it while you can" ;)) are "Watch your step while checking out". It was tricky for me to negotiate these steps with two heave suitcases in both hands. :)
And take a cards from a nearby cafe and book a table in advance, it can be quite popular on Friday or Saturday night.
All in all - staying there was an amazing experience for my family. Much much better that taking a room in a hotel.
Thanks for this nice review, I am happy you and your family had a good time. I agree the stairs case is very steep and the shower pressure is low. Not so much I can do unfortunately except help you to carry your suitcases. Back in the day, houses were taxed on their width, meaning that the wider your house, the more taxes you paid. How could a clever Dutchie circumvent such an issue? Easy, simply build yourself a very tall, very skinny house which requires a crazy set of stairs ;-) So all the old buildings are like that or even more steep ! Regarding the flow of pressure in the shower there is also a good explanation. In Amsterdam lot of old buildings have old pipes and an increase of pressure would blast them. Water provider cannot select the pressure per flat or even building ; the full blockof houses has the same low pressure. But the good side with that holland is not using at all chlorine is the water.
Olivier was a wonderful host, patient and considerate with a new traveler. The apartment is located in a prime area of town, very close to the most interesting places in Amsterdam.
We had a great stay at Olivier's apartment. It was modern, very clean and comfertable. the TV set up was just great and we managed to watch a couple of films as our son napped. The light in the aprtment is great and the area was perfect, not to far from the city centre and buzzing area itself. we went to a couple of the pubs on our door step and really loved the atmosphere. Olivier was a great host- always contactable and very helpful.
The house is really good, nice and clean. The area is quite and you have all you need around the flat!
The ouner Olivier was friendly and helpful, and left us all the information needed to fully enjoy our visit to the city. I highly recommend this house.
I am a French guy living in Amsterdam since 11 years.
I like all kind of sport rather practicing than watching, reading, and photography.
I love to travel. Specially by train within a country. Now I would like to meet more people traveling to my new home town Amsterdam.
