Interaction with Guests
I know well the area as I live here since 20 years. I've got books about the city and the area that you'll be welcome to use.
Don't hesitate to ask me for more details. With my "basic frenchie english" , i'll try to be the most honest to describe you the flat.
The neighborhood is a living area, popular but safe, with building from the beginning of 20th century, 4 stairs tall at maximum. It's in the close center, just near the station, 4 minutes walk the medieval heart of the city, convenient to visit everything by walking, and also easy to leave the city and reach the beaches and the motorway wich goes all south of France. From here you can take all tramway lines. And most of all, you can walk, everything is near.
Two minutes walk and you will find pharmacy, mini supermarket, a fabulous boulangerie, butcher, fruits and vegetables, wine shop. Biologic shop at 5 minutes. 4 minutes walk of Comédie's place, center of the city, door of the medieval part. Note that the (website hidden) map is wrong. The flat is not rue Colin, but rue Boyer, and has no view on the railroad track, even if the station is close.
BY TRAIN OR PLANE
Once we've decided your arrival time if you come by train or by plane (than you need to take the bus "navette" and the tramway line 1 direction Mosson, stop Gare saint Roch). The flat is near.
BY CAR / From the motorway, take exit 30 "Montpellier-Sud, Prés d'Arènes". Follow the signs Montpellier "Gare". Straight on avenue de Palavas, At the last traffic light of avanue de Palavas, turn left on Boulevard de Strasbourg, then stay on the left side on the road and when the road separate, don't climb right to the bridge of the railway station, but go ahead on rue Frédéric Peysson (there's a bar at the corner). Then take the 2nd road on the right, rue des antémis, and again right. You are rue Boyer, where you can take your luggage off for a short stop, but not park because it's only for resident. If you want to i'll give you the name of the roads nearby where you can park for 2 euros a day !!!
What I ask is respect for me and my nice neighbours, and for my flat i renovated with love (be clean, be quiet, be nice)... I really try to be the same. I like you confirm me your arrival time, according to what we decided, and that you always tell me if you we'll be late (or earlier).
What i hope is nice "human sharing"... Money is not everything, trust is much.
Hoping to meet you and introduce you to the charms of the area for your french experience as good as possible.
Important : no cigaret, no animal.
My friend and I had an awesome experience at Stephanie's. She was full of information and history about Montpellier and made us both feel very welcome in her house. Showed us a bunch of nice and close places to go, see and eat at. 2 minutes from the train station and close to everything in town. And great Christmas markets. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks !!!!
Our host Stephaniewas very welcoming. She described the route very exactly and gave a lot of information in advance. Allthough we arrived late she was very patient and expected us with a welcoming drink. She provided us with lots of information about Montpellier and surroundings. This was very helpful for our daily travelplans. We liked the heartful talks with her and the farewellbreakfast together. Stephanie is a very intelligent woman who knows a lot about history and social development in the world. She speaks good english, in case talking in french is not so easy for the visitors. The flat was very cozy and we are thankful that we could use the kitchen so much, sothat we could prepare meals or just sit together in the evening. The bathroom was huge and the whole flat was tastefully equipped. Stephanie gave us helpful advices where to park our car, which saved us money. It was not too far to walk and the car was in a safe area. We recommend staying with Stephanie, we would always return!!
Stephanie es la mejor. Nos dio indicaciones muy útiles para conocer la cuidad.Además, se preocupó de qué estuviéramos como en casa. Su casa está muy bien situada, cerca del barrio antiguo y de la estación; limpia, acogedora.
My brother and I were very fortunate to have stayed with Stephanie. Her apartment is very clean and has great amenities. She drove us to the beach on our first day in Montpellier! There was a record flood on our last day there, so our train was completely canceled. Stephanie suggested that we stay another night for free and even made us dinner. I don't know what we would have done without her! I highly recommend her apartment. I would love to stay there again! Thanks Stephanie!
It was a great pleasure to stay at Stephanie's flat. One minute walk from railway station, brilliant art-nouveau house, the most beautiful, smart and cosy flat I've ever seen (I'm an architect)! Stephanie is a very kind and intelligent woman, she made this flat herself! Recomend.
Just huge huge Merci an Stephanie!
The friend of mine and me spent 5 days in Montpellier at the Stephanie's apartment. The flat is located almost in the centre of the city, near the central station: so you have the good access to get everywhere.
The apartment is calm, tidy and lightly.
Stephanie gave us a lot of advices where to go and what to sight seen. She was/is a nice host.
I am recommended for you to stay here.
I'm 43 years old woman, work in cultural part. I like nearly all kind of music... if it's good ! (from operas to Malian or jazz), litterature, arts, sensitive and open mind people, biologic food and tasty wines to share. I'm a cheese addict ! I prefer to be than to have. I'll like to welcome nice open mind people, respectfull of someone's property and way of life.
I like this citation of amerindian culture by Pierre Rabhi, a french-algerian man for local alternative actions : there is a fire in the forest. a a hummingbird trying to extinguish the fire. Other animals just laugh at him : "what do you think you do ? you're too small to extinguish the fire. you won't manage". And the small bird answer : I know that but I do my part !
