Our home is a spacious 5 bedroom family home with amazing views over open spaces towards the mighty Waikato River and Mt Tauhara.
We have two living areas, a large kitchen that you are free to use, and comfortable bedrooms. We are open to children staying, just let us know.
We have a laundry available for your use.
We also have chickens for fresh free range eggs!
Our gardens are being developed and maturing and ready to be enjoyed.
Heaps of safe off street parking.
Our home is full of books, games, free Wifi, music, piano and guitar if you would like to entertain us with your abilities.
We live in a comfortable part of town, all the homes around us are also on 2 acres, and one can easily walk to the CBD in about 15 minutes, but takes a bit longer coming home as it is up hill!! There is no public transport, so a car would be necessary to enjoy Taupo.
Guests are welcome to enjoy all the gardens, you have access to the kitchen, family and living rooms and the laundry if you need it.
Interaction with Guests
We welcome what ever level of interaction our guests are most comfortable with. Guests are welcome to share an evening relaxing with us or simply unwinding in their private room.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood at the end of a cul-de-sac street.
We would hope that you apply rules of common sense and mutual respect. If you don't know what that means, then this probably isn't the place for you.
Absolutely NO smoking or recreational drugs, or anything else that might otherwise get you arrested.
Situated in a very nice area, the views are lovely and is positioned so close (by car) to Huka Falls and the Taupo's town center and lake.
Raewyn & Kevin are very comfortable to be with and we so enjoyed our time with them watching New Zealand's Cricket semi-finals World Cup win over South Africa! They are lovely, helpful & gracious hosts.
I really enjoyed my stay with the Taylors. They were friendly, hospitable and helpful. It's also a great location.
We loved staying here. The house was large, well equipped and very comfortable. We had an ensuite room tucked away at the side of the house. Raewyn and all her family made us feel very welcome and were happy to chat in the evenings etc. She suggested options for us to do doing the day which were very successful. She gave us an excellent breakfast and shared her garden produce with us. The house is out of town, with views over the surrounding countryside, so transport is needed to stay here. Thanks Raewyn.
Raewyn and her family are wonderful people; I immediately felt comfortable and at home. By the time my visit was finished, I honestly felt like one of the family. The room was very nice, and the bed super comfortable. Location is perfect for seeing Taupo, while at the same time having some quiet and relaxation. Highly recommended!
We had a great stay at Raewyn and Kevin's very spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated home. We really enjoyed talking with them over breakfast, a delicious spread of muesli, fruit salad, yogurt, toast and coffee, and tea in the evening. They had great tips on what to do and see (including an online discount for the Wairakei Terrace thermal pools). The bedrooms are large, have very comfortable beds, and feel very private (including one with its own bathroom). We also appreciated being able to wash our clothes before the next leg of long trip. Highly recommended!
Raewyn and her family madr us feel right at home. Their home is beautiful with and impressive view to be enjoyed day and night. Very peaceful. Location is excellent close to town, and with many activities in the area in Taupo and beyond.
We are a relaxed family, who have a spacious family home on the edge of town.
Our five children have scattered themselves, leaving the nest nearly empty - and ready for others to enjoy the space, scenery and gardens.
We have a dog who shares our 2 acres: Ollie who loves to play soccer with anyone energetic enough.
Kevin and I have lived in Taupo for 20+ years, and are well acquainted with what Taupo has to offer. From fishing to golf, café's and restaurants, mountain biking, triathlons, walks/hiking, water sports to name a few.
We are used to having guests share our home, and have been involved in hospitality for a number of years. Ideally, you would need a car to enjoy what Taupo has to offer, and we have plenty of off street parking. We are happy for those touring in a camper van, who want a break........for you to park in the driveway, and enjoy a night or two of home comforts.
We are flexible, and if you have any special requests - just ask!!
