  • Very friendly family offering a beautiful and comfortable bedroom with private bathroom in a cosy home.
I enjoyed my stay very much, everything was fantastic and I would love to come back one day!

  • It was a beautiful house. Raewyn and Claire were extremely helpful. Raewyn took me around town and Claire dropped me off at the Wairakei Terraces the next day. I just wish that I knew the place earlier so I could've booked there for an extra few days. The place felt like an absolute 6-star-hotel - though Raewyn is very humble about that. The room has an ensuite with all the modern amenities and a warm shower, a very comfortable bed. The deck outside the living room has a great view of the lake. Raewyn also allowed me to play her piano which greatly relieved my itch for musical expression. Raewyn cooked me a very good breakfast with scrambled eggs (off her hens) and cereal with fruits (off her fruit trees). I had a great time! The place is highly recommended to all.

  • I really loved staying here, Raewyn was a brilliant host. I had a really comfortable room and the house and property is just lovely. My stay there was a pleasure.

  • We enjoyed our stay with Raewyn. The location has a lovely view, is convenient to Taupo. Raewyn was helpful in suggesting sights to see in the area. We drove to Tongariro National Park in a little over an hour, lots to explore there even on a bad weather day. Also very close to the Rotorua sights which we saw on our way out. Breakfast was a nice spread of cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, tea. Our room space was nice and large, the bathroom adjoining large with a nice shower.

  • Simply amazing! Thanks so much dear Raewyn, Kevin an Claire for being the most humble and relaxing hosts one can imagine. I loved every single second I spent in/with your beautiful garden, house and family. Time to figure out how to do it all again next year :-) Sending you happy greetings! Celia

  • Thank you for this great stay! I felt very welcome and got a lot of directions like were to go and what to do during my stay. During breakfast you can enjoy a very lovely gardenview, and the house is nearby the city centre of Taupo. Perfect place to explore the central of the Northern Island! One of the best stays I had!

  • Raeeyn and her family were very accommodating and friendly! They welcomed us into their home. They went over and above our expectations. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Thank you!

  • I have nothing but compliments for Raewyn and her household. They were thoroughly welcoming hosts. The house is large, modern and spacious with some surprisinly impressive views over the Taupo area. You feel like you're in a country house, even though the place is only 5 to 10 minutes drive from the middle of downtown Taupo. Would not hesitate to recommend it.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Raewyn's home. They were very hospitable and accommodating. The room is quiet and tucked away at the back of the home, with an en suite bathroom. I think we enjoyed their two dogs and the gorgeous views the most. They were so kind to have left breakfast out for our enjoyment, at our leisure. Beautiful family.

We are a relaxed family, who have a spacious family home on the edge of town. Our five children have scattered themselves, leaving the nest empty - and ready for others to enjoy the space, scenery and gardens. We have two dogs that share our 2 acres: Ollie who loves to play soccer with anyone energetic enough, and Poppy who is just a puppy that exhausts everyone!! Kevin and I have lived in Taupo for 20 years, and are well acquainted with what Taupo has to offer. From fishing to golf, cafe's and restaurants, mountain biking, triathlons, walks/hiking, water sports to name a few. We are used to having guests share our home, and have been couch surfer hosts for a number of years, but would like to broaden our hosptiality. Ideally, you would need a car to enjoy what Taupo has to offer, and we have plenty of off street parking. We are happy for those touring in a campervan, who want a break........for you to park in the driveway, and enjoy a night or two of home comforts. We are flexible, and if you have any special requests - just ask!!
