Interaction with Guests
We love sharing our home with international travelers as well as visitors from other parts of the country. We presently have a guest staying with us from the Isle of Man who is a Viking descendant. He loves to share his many interesting stories from far away and long ago.
We're just minutes from downtown SLO and eight miles from the beach. We have award winning wineries within minutes of our home. The wineries from Paso Robles to Arroyo Grande have great tasting rooms that will intrigue the most demanding test buds. Of course, we have venues ranging from championship golf courses to performing arts theaters and a myriad of activities in between, not to mention the many excellent restaurants in our college town.
There is a city bus stop one block away and the local train station less than a mile away where one can board a train for LA or San Francisco. The regional airport is less than 5 minutes away.

SLO town is bicycle friendly and we offer our guest bicycles to ride and free complimentary wine tasting tickets if they are so inclined.

We ask all who enter our home to follow the Golden Rule and treat each other with the utmost courtesy and respect.
The check in progress was super easy. The room was spacious with a nice view & very private. The bathroom is huge & stocked with nice fluffy towels. We met our host Hilary, she was warm & welcoming, making us feel totally at home. She teaches piano & even played a couple of tunes for us (free entertainment). We were there on a Thursday night & wanted to attend the very popular Farmers Market. Since it'd be very difficult to park in the downtown area, the person that lives there gave us round trip rides for free. Now, there's what I called service that you won't get from a hotel. We highly recommend this place & hope to return soon!
Richard and Hillary's place is absolutely fantastic. We were greeted by Hillary very late at night after we ran into some car troubles - she was incredibly accommodating and understanding. The third floor is absolutely stunning - everything was immaculate, especially the jacuzzi! Would definitely stay again.
The stay was absolutely lovely! The room was beautifully decorated and impeccably presented in addition to being comfortable, inviting, and private. Richard and Hilary went above and beyond to provide us with a wonderful stay including looking after my dog while visiting Hearst Castle.
This stay was outstanding! What an unbelievable value! I would stay again and all of the good reviews are spot on! Thanks!
This was a terrific stay. The directions were clear and easy to follow. The house is a beautiful modern home in a scenic area of SLO. We were warmly greeted by our host. Our room and private bath were excetionally clean, spacious, and well appointed. The value here is ridiculously good. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I stayed in SLO with my daughter as we traveled up the coast, Hillary was our host this week and she made us feel very comfortable. The neighborhood was beautiful and close to restaurants and downtown. The room was very clean, private, and quiet with the most comfortable bed in the world! Thank you for a restful night.
Richard and Hilary have a beautiful house in SLO. Unfortunately, Richard was in the hospital during my visit, but Hilary was very accommodating. I enjoyed speaking with her about what was going on in SLO.
One thing to be aware of is that this house is not air conditioned. Most of the time, this is not a problem, but I was there on a particularly humid night and it made it somewhat challenging to sleep. This room has a ceiling fan though, which does help.
