Beach guest house
You can't get any closer to the beach than on it! Roll out of bed and into the surf!
A place of simple comforts, perfectly nestled on the edge of the ocean and opening onto a golden sandy shore, the guest HOUSE is the perfectly positioned to admire the relaxing view of the shimmering Atlantic and the endless African sunshine.
The Guest house is right on the beach!
A new joint UK Berber venture, the house has been refurbished to create a comfortable, casual atmosphere in which to enjoy this fabulous location. Walk out of the front door over one of the four terraces and you are on the sand and a pebbles throw from the mighty Atlantic Ocean.

Brenda is a good landlord and got everything arranged very fast. Everything was well.
We had 5 really nice and relaxed days in room 3 'with the view to the ocean and the balcony just in front - guess we just hung out there and enjoyed the view and the sea and the sun only occasionally interrupted by the nice company of Brenda and Marods cooking and making us feel at home - "live in the dream i.e."
Brenda, Marod: CU - thanks for a lovely finish to our trip though Morocco..
Very relaxing, great place. the best to get reid of your allday problems. a little end of the world, but exactly what you need if you are full of too much of little problems....
What a great stay. I needed to escape work and be somewhere peaceful. I didn't want luxury. I couldn't be bothered staying somewhere expensive with loads of Blackberry users around me and tourist tat. I was looking for a more real experience away from it all. This was it and good value as well.
Aftas Beach House sits comfortably at Aftas Beach just outside Mirleft. This is a truly enchanting spot. I found myself staring out at the sea endlessly - you're stopped in time. Brenda's cooking and hosting was just at the right pitch - no fuss and completely chilled out.
Although the beds are fairly basic, I had the best sleep I've had in years. The sea crashing onto the beach is a lovely noise to sleep to and it creates a sea air that induces deep sleep. Breathtaking views and sunsets, lovely rustic colours of the buildings against the beach and the sky, and a relaxed atmosphere make for the perfect escape.
Mirleft itself is a lovely town. The locals are genuinely friendly. There's none of the touristy hassling that one gets in bigger cities or more developed places.
If you're passing through travelling then plan to stay for 3 nights not 1 night, you won't regret it. And if you're happy with a simple but lovely place to stay for the privilege of an incredible beach and complete chill out then a 5/6 night stay here is a fantastic get-away-from-it-all experience. It's hard to find places like this nowadays.
We had a hard time finding the place because of some communication issues, but after finding AFTAS BEACH with the help of some locals, it was worth the trouble :)
We stayed for two nights so we had the chance to enjoy a full day of a beach house and a nice 15 min walk for dinner in town, very nice - if you end up eating behind the market grilled fish, leave a tip on our behalf, our exit was confusing and we forgot to leave a well deserved tip.
Although basic, the room was ok as well has the shared bathroom, and we where lucky to have the floor balcony just to ourselves - great sunset and very friendly staff.
Where to begin!
I had just a wonderful time staying at the Aftas Beach House. I knew coming into Agadir I wanted to make my way out of that tourist trap and have more of a unique experience. And that I most certainly did have!
From the beginning I was made to feel very comfortable - as if I was at home. I had an amazing room looking out on the beach, which the house is really right on. The food Mourdac cooks is incredible, I could really eat it for the rest of my life! I originally made a reservation for 2 nights, but ended up staying longer because I loved it so much. The only reason I left was because I had to! It's the type of place where time stands still and the outside world almost seems to fade away.
As can be seen, the beach is amazing and the place is very well decorated and designed. What can't be photographed is just how wonderful Brenda is. She was so very open, interesting, funny, just a superb hostess. I hope to stay in touch and am certainly planning a trip back!
Thank you Brenda!
Brend und ihr Team ist einfach fantastisch - man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment willkommen und wie zu hause. Livin your dream :). Das Haus der Strand, die Menschen - einfach alles perfekt - ich komme wieder!
Nice clean guesthouse, friendly atmosphere, right on the beach, Brenda and Norad take great care of their guests, I felt very secure here, home from home. would be 5 stars if there was half-board available, but great for bed and breakfast, and the occasional cooked meal, no funny tummies here, the hygiene is great, stay in one of the rooms on the second floor near to the bathroom, and enjoy the balcony looking out to the waves
Great spot, great host!
After an exhausting self-guided tour of Morocco, I could not have been happier to find myself at Brenda's beach house. She and her staff are wonderful hosts, and the property could not be better situated on this fabulous, secluded beach. Uninterrupted sunshine and warm breezes, along with a diverse and friendly clientele, form the perfect setting for anything from a week of reading and sunbathing, to surfing and exploring the coast, or to going inland to select a steed at the famous camel auction in Guelmim.
The beech is also 15 minutes by foot from the town of Mirleft which features a sampling good restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as inexpensive taxis to the surrounding area. Given how easy it is to fly to Agadir (two hours from Aftas beech), I'm sure to return soon.
