Welcome to my victorian mini mansion .Come stay in one of the best private , lavishly decorated rooms in the historical Bywater ,that sleeps 3 ,close to the french quarter. The house and neighborhood will charm you with a stay youll never forget. -
The Petit Palace was built in 1913. She has a relaxed and welcoming feel just like a southern lady should. I have been decorating and rebuilding this beauty since 2002 and it is definately unique. The 12 foot ceilings , hardwood floors, and lovely clawfoot tubs will take you back to a slower time and welcome you to the big easy.
Guests have access to the downstairs theatre lounge , formal dining room, down home kitchen, and laundry . The kitchen and laundry hours are 8:30 am until 10 pm.
Interaction with Guests
I will be at the house most of the time and am happy to talk about or suggest any local outings. Also I am available at all times for any issues you may have or room requests. Sometimes I may be available for airport pickup or drop off.
The bywater is the newest hot spot of new orleans and as far as Im concerned the jewel of the city. This is the real new orleans. The people and architecture of the neighborhood are colorfull, creative, and friendly.
There is a bus stop on the corner and its a ten minute bike ride or a twenty minute walk to the french quarter. Of couse a taxi gets you there in a flash for about 6 dollars. I also have a few bikes if you like to pedal.
Other Things to Note
If anyone is allergic to dogs, I live with 3 tiny chihuahuas that never leave my room and are very quiet on the bottom floor.
This is a non smoking house. No unregistered guests overnight, please.
We had a great time in New Orleans our room was great. We were there on business so we were out most of the time. Everyone was very nice.
Felina greeted us at the door with a warm and inviting smile. Her passion to her home and design was clearly evident. The house was beautiful and accommodating. Her evening recommendation proved to be one the best hangouts I've ever been to. She introduced us to another couple in the house and we made immediate fiends with them. Felina was warm and open, honest and funny. It was a ln absolute success. The rooms are beautiful and quintessentially New Orleans. I'll definitely stay with her again.
Felina immediately welcomed us and let us know about good places to go to in New Orleans. She was very welcoming and hospitable; she also of course left us be if we wanted to be on our own. It's a lovely old house; we loved it here.
I stayed with Felina for a week.. I didn't get to talk to her much at all because me and my friends were out and about constantly from day one. But she was very nice, and helpful letting know how to get around.. Her place was exactly as listed..to most people the neighborhood wouldn't appear as nice.. But everyone around was really nice to us all so I felt safe. don't judge a book by it's cover :). I'd definitely stay there again. Thanks again Felina for letting us stay there!! We had a blast!

Despite the long distance personal family challenges our hostess had to deal with during our stay Felina Nicole Ami went above and beyond her call of duty to make our stay most rewarding. Her assistant was gracious as well and my Daughter and I could not have found a better place to stay. We were so happy to not have to deal with the cold, flat antiseptic hotel rooms that most people have to endure.
Felina is very friendly and helpful. She welcomed me at the house and sat down with me for a while to give me my bearings, as this was my first time in New Orleans. Her recommendations were all spot-on. I got to the house by cab from the train station and was at first a bit uncertain about the location, as it is one block to the "wrong" side of St. Claude. That meant that I take cabs back at night. During the day, though, I didn't really feel unsafe and within a block or two one finds oneself in a very lovely part of the Bywater, spotted with great restaurants, bars, and cafes, that I never would have encountered had I stayed somewhere closer to "the center". This turned out to be a major plus for me. And as for the house and room itself---the place is clean but not new, so if you need everything to look disinfected try somewhere else. If you want to take a chance on some character, try it. Felina also provides breakfast fare (coffee, tea, eggs, yogurt, toast) that you can help yourself to; other than that I didn't much use the kitchen, but others did cook there and you are welcome to. Overall, there may be moments that challenge your comfort zone if you are expecting the purely conventional, but if you want push beyond (really just a bit) then give this place a try.

Im a friendly world traveler originally from los angeles that finally was seduced by the new orleans magic and settled down here in 2001 and bought my house in 2002. As you can see , my home is my castle and I love to decorate. I love tattooing, music, dancing, and the arts and really all things creative. I have three strangely quiet tiny chihuahuas that stay in my room that I love. Im mostly a homebody artist . Welcome to mamas house, its built for comfort and style, stay a spell.
