A truly spacious private bedroom in a large 2BR apt. w/ living room, kitchen, hallway, & full bath. Bedroom is fully furnished with a queen size bed, desk, & AC. Only 10 mins away from the Charles River and Red or Green T stops! Near BU/Harvard/MIT
The apartment, and the room in particular, is unusually large. The house is filled with large bay windows, allowing plenty of light to pour through. The bedroom can comfortably accommodate two people, and the rest of the house will give you plenty of room to stretch out and feel at home.
Guests will be provided with a Cambridge visitors parking permit allowing street parking (w/ limitations) in the neighborhood. Yered, my roommate, has a bedroom and bathroom in the back of the house which are for his use only.
The kitchen, living room (w/ TV & Chromecast), and hallway (a great place to store bicycles) is shared space that you are welcome to use. The large bathroom between the kitchen and hallway will be yours to use during your stay. WiFi is of course complementary.
I will be here to greet and welcome you to the place, then will be leaving for the entirety of your stay. My roommate, Yered, will be staying in the house as well. He is fairly quiet and keeps to himself, but would be happy to answer any questions or perhaps hang out depending on your willingness.
The apartment is on the first floor of a 3 story building (there are two other similar aptartments above, one on each floor). It is located in Cambridge, but the neighborhood, Cambridgeport, is beautiful with tree lined streets and a relaxed European feel, completely distinct from downtown Boston or even other parts of Cambridge.
It lies at a rare centerpoint between Boston and Cambridge. Central Square, the cultural hub of Cambridge, a short walk away to the north and the BU Bridge overlooking the Charles River and Boston less than 10 minutes to the south.
Cambridgeport is in the heart of the intellectual capital of the US, surrounded by Harvard, MIT, and Boston University. Harvard Square is always lively with fantastic comedy at the Hong Kong, brunch at the Beat Hotel, or a drink with the locals at Grendel's Den.
The public transit system is the MBTA, providing primarily bus and train service (above and below ground throughout Boston & Cambridge). The Green line is about a 15 minute walk away across the BU Bridge and will quickly take you to downtown Boston, or out into greater Boston the opposite direction. The Red line serves Cambridge and nearest stop is in Central Square, a scenic 15 minute walk through Cambridgeport.
The bus system is reliable (and air conditioned) and is a swift way to get around. The 47 stop is a few minutes walk and will take you across the BU Bridge into Boston, enabling quick access to the Longwood medical area, Harvard Medical School and Northeastern University.
I ask that you not bring pets or smoke in the house (the front porch is a nice spot for that ;). I simply expect guests to behave as they would in their own homes and respect my home. Try not to break anything and clean up after yourself. Understand that there is another person living in the house and avoid being excessively loud.
