Get away from the crowds! Private, secluded upscale waterfront cottage on ~5 acres; pool & hot tub feet from the back door. Waterviews from most rooms. Direct Chesapeake Bay access on property via dock / sandy kayak launch. ~15 mins from downtown. Fish & crab, kayak, take in views from the screened porch, relax by the pool, fire pit or hot tub with a drink. Bring your boat - marina ~4 miles away - put-in there & tie-up at our pier! A true private retreat!

The space
Gorgeous sunrises and abundant wildlife await you in the morning as you look over the bay from the dock or the porch. Pull a kayak or paddle board directly into the bay via the sandy launch area (or pull a few chairs to sit in the surf). ~5 acres of room to run around and explore.

Modern amenities with 250 Mbps Internet and WiFi throughout the house, as well as Sonos to power music on the porch or pool area. Internet-enabled TV with Amazon Prime, YouTube TV, and Netflix pre-loaded to stream movies or your favorite TV shows at night.

There are 3 kayaks (including 1 tandem), a stand up paddle board, a crab pot and dip net, a charcoal grill, a fire pit and 2 adult bikes for your use. From mid-April / May 1 - October 31 / early November the pool is open (we can open it open sooner / close it later if needed - it is not heated). There is also a hot tub that is open most of the year. If you'd like to bring your boat, you can tie-up at the end of our pier. 3 to 4 feet of water at mean low tide. Marina ~4 miles away.

We recently added both a lax net and a basketball hoop. Given the propensity for gear to "grow legs" we ask that you bring a basketball and / or lax sticks & balls with you if you'd like to play.

This is a great spot for quiet days enjoying the outdoors. Between swimming, bird watching, fishing / crabbing or just hanging out by the pool, porch or on the dock, there is plenty to do on the property. Don't miss Island Stop's homemade food less than 2 miles away. Richardson's Cafe and Southwind's Pizza are great casual spots in downtown Mathews, while The White Dog Bistro offers a more upscale experience. There are also a number of art and antique shops in downtown Mathews worth exploring. Stop in at the super-cute Visitors Center / Sibley's General Store for information on the area. Bethel Beach - a quiet beach fantastic for long walks and shelling - is less than a 15 minute drive from the Cottage. For those that want to see a bit of history, Williamsburg / Yorktown / Jamestown are ~1 hour away (as are Bush Gardens and Water Country for those that want something a bit more active). Less than an hour to the north lies Kilmarnock and Irvington with additional boutiques and two wineries - Good Luck Cellars and the Dog & Oyster.
