The Space

The amount of space we offer is unique for this popular area De Pijp. 6 bedrooms, 3 bath rooms, 2 toilets, a balcony, luxurious kitchen. Our house is perfect for larger groups (beds for 12 - 16 persons, 4 baby beds available and space for extra matrasses), but also for one or more families.

Coming into the house, you arrive in our hall way. Here you find a small storage for bikes and/or luggage. The stairs to the first floor and the stairs to the second floor both have a so called stair lift. Our home is accessible for the physically challenged.

On the first floor you will find a hallway which gives you access to three bedrooms (a, b, c), two bathrooms en suite and a separate toilet. (a) The first bedroom has a bunk bed, ideal for children but also suited for adults. (b) The largest bedroom of the house has a king-size bed, a see-through fire place and a bathroom with bath and rain shower en suite. There is a large flat screen tv, you can watch tv lying on the bed. (c) The third bedroom has a double bed (can be separated into two single beds) and a bathroom with shower en suite. The beds in rooms b) and c) can be moved in position by remote control.

The second floor is our beautiful (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) open-plan living room with a large kitchen, kitchen island with breakfast bar and a large balcony. The kitchen is extensive, it contains everything you need: a microwave/oven, a furnace, a Kitchen Aid, a large oven, a large fridge, a coffee machine, a steam oven etcetera. Close to the two pairs of balcony doors, you will find our dinner table with room for 12 people. The other side of the space has a large lounge sofa and a projector (beamer) on which you can watch TV. A full surround sound system is present and there is a piano. In the bench we have all kinds of toys for kids in the age of 1 - 6. Everything to make them feel at home, not only puzzles and books and building blocks but also a slide, cars and bikes, puppet theatre, kids kitchen etc. The balcony is 2m x 6m.

On the third floor you will find another hall way with access to three bedrooms (d, e, f), a separate bathroom, a separate toilet and also access to the roof. In the hall way are a laundry washer and dryer. There are two large bedrooms (d and e) with queen-size beds and also sofa beds. So these two rooms offer sleeping space for 2 or 4 persons per room. Room d has a dining table with 2 chairs, it offers some apartment-like facilities. (f) And there is one bedroom with one queen-size bed, this room is small compared to the other 5 bedrooms, but comfortable.

The Neighborhood

Our neighbourhood De Pijp is one of the most popular areas in Amsterdam. We live in a very quit street in this dynamic district. It is ideally located: it is next to the Albert Cuijp market and at walking distance of the shopping area, Rembrandt Square and Leidseplein for nightly entertainment, Museum Square with Rijksmuseum/Van Gogh/Stedelijk, Amstel and the other canals to take a boat trip, all bars and restaurants which make De Pijp so attractive).

De Pijp is a lively neighbourhood with a melting pot of cultures meeting at the largest market in the Netherlands: the Albert Cuyp.

A formerly working-class neighbourhood, today de Pijp is home to a multicultural community and the city's largest market. The colourful sights and scents of the Albert Cuypmarkt are sure to delight and the area teems with charming ethnic restaurants, cosy brown cafés and trendy bars and terraces.

The young, old, students, artists, and families have all chosen to make de Pijp their home, and far removed from the hustle and bustle of central Amsterdam, this homely alternative is appealing.

Within walking distance from the house you will find popular sites such as the Heineken Experience, the Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark, The Royal Concerthall, Paradiso, Leidseplein and the Rijksmuseum.

It will take about ten minutes by foot to get to the center of Amsterdam. You will also be able to take the tram, stops are only three minutes away. The Sarphatipark and the Vondelpark are nearby as well. There are two big supermarkets a couple meters away, one at each end of the street. Even though the Albert Cuypmarkt can be busy, our street is usually rather quiet.

Our house is a nice living place. We live here with our 4 children. We keep the house clean, but we are not super tidy. Our home is weel chair- and kids-friendly! We have high chairs, baby beds and a lot of toys for kids, from a slide to numerous playing blocks, cars, animals, puzzles and games. It's quite unique to have such an open space here in Amsterdam, it easily fits a large group of people.
