Held on May 7, this festival celebrates Split's patron saint, St Duje (St Dominius). The town turns out for a big procession and there are various games and prizes as well as a ceremony in Split's Cathedral of St Duje. Often, a giant risotto is cooked in the town centre!
Days of Radunica
Radunica is the oldest part of Split and this recently revived festival refers to traditional St John and St Peter celebrations. Much takes place in and around the neighbourhood's streets and squares during the last week of June.

If you are a solo female traveller to Split like me, Tania is like the best friend you didn't bring with you here. She is such a warm and friendly person, and together with her charming little daughter and mum, they welcomed me like family to their house.
She offered to pick me up from the bus station the moment I arrived, and wasted no time to explain me all the 'must go' places to visit. Since I am travelling alone, she didn't hesitate the slightest to accompany me to her favourite restaurants, bakery, shops and coffee places when I asked her to.
Her love for Split itself is 'infectious', in a way that she influenced me to appreciate everything I see and encounter even more deeply (for example the floor, the culture, the weather, the people, the food.. etc) That made my trip very meaningful.
She took me for long walks along the pier, and we chatted about everything under the sky. If you are lucky (like me), you even get your 'coffee fortune' read by her wonderful mama!!
Her apartment looks exactly like what is advertised, and the bed is very comfortable. She has equipped enough toiletries for my usage and has everything I needed. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed my stay here and I can say I have got myself a new friend for life in this wonderful lady named Tania.
If you are into fashion, be sure to check out the boutique where she works, inside the Peristil Square! They sell unique beautiful clothes by Croatian designers. Tania can also be a great fashion consultant if you ask her opinions, by the way ;)
Thanks a lot to you and your mum! I will never forget my incredible time in Split! :-)
Thank you so much Elaine for your kind and lovely words about me and my family. I really appreciate it, I'm so happy you enjoyed your time with us and that you felt like at home. My house it's your house :-)

What lovely Hosts, an absolutely gorgeous apartment for myself which really made by time in Split that much more enjoyable. I would highly recommmend staying here. Tania was extremely quick to respond to me when I had any queries. I would definately be back to stay here again. Perfect if your travelling alone or as a couple/ pair.
Our stay at tania's apartment was lovely. It is very easy to access from port and bus drop off. Only a short walk from markets and palace area. The room is large enough for a couple and has cute furnishing. The bathroom and main room were both very clean. WiFi worked well. Neighbourhood was not too noisy and well sound managed. Tania was lovely and gave helpful instructions on arrival and even more importantly detailed help on how to find the apartmen before departing. We would not hesitate to suggest staying at tanias cute apartment in great spot for good value. Thank you tania
We stayed here for a week and we really enjoyed it. The apartment is close to the old centre, public transport, the market etc.. The apartment itself is clean equips you with everything you need. Thereby it is, unless it central location, very quiet because of the pedestrian area it is in.
Tania was a great host, she gave us a warm welcome and a lot of recommendations about what to do. She responded quickly on any message and even during our stay she was approachable all the time for any questions we had!
I stayed here for five nights and my experience was absolutely lovely. Tania was a wonderful host, extremely responsive to email and phone and her apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean. The utilities are up to date and the guest is supplied with a fully equipped kitchen (e.g. wine bottle opener, pots and pans, coffee mug, water kettle, etc) and bathroom (e.g. hot water, make up mirror, hairdryer, hand soap, etc). The location is perfect, a less than 10 minute walk into the center of the old city, close to the bus station, ferries, and all sorts of food markets! If I travel back to Split, I would most definitely rent from Tania again - it was truly a hidden gem!
