Situated on the highest ridge in Vinton County, Ohio sits a small historic farm est. in 1880. Today, this is the location of Le Petit Chevalier Vineyards and Farm Winery, offering bottle sales and a tasting room. The Winery Loft is a perfect staycation/vacation place, welcoming guests to live on a vineyard, directly above a winery, with the ability to explore nearby Hocking Hills and Lake Hope State Parks. We have an enhanced cleaning/disinfecting routine between stays and follow CDC guideline.

The space
The Winery Loft has a private entrance, and your personal parking space will be reserved. The Loft has two private balconies, one that catches the morning sunrise and one for evening sunset. The kitchen and dining area includes cabinets filled with basic kitchen utensils, silverware, mugs and plates, wine glasses (incl. cork screw), coffeemaker, toaster, microwave, and full size oven and fridge. Dish soap and kitchen towels are also provided. Upon arrival there will be a small breakfast surprise waiting for you.

The Loft is an open floor plan, with the exception of the bathroom that is separated by a lockable sliding barn door. The bathroom has a large glass panel shower that includes rain shower head and massage points.
The living and sleeping area has one king size bed and one sleeper sofa. The space can be divided for some privacy using a large room dividing curtain that is usually tied back to enjoy the large open space.
Our guests can make themselves at home, staying 100% private or are welcome to come enjoy some company with us around the fire. On evenings when we are not using the fire ring, it is still available for our guests. We have plenty of firewood on hand.
Since we are a working farm and winery, there may be occasional farm equipment noises and some activity in the bottom floor winery.

However, once all the daily work is accomplished, the farm turns back time to become a quiet retreat under the amazing starry sky that can easily be observed above this beautiful piece of property. Sit back and relax while listening to a symphony of spring peepers, hoot owls, and the occasional Whip-poor-will.

Guest access
Guests have access to the wine tasting room during opening hours and can stroll through the vineyards and down to the pond. The fire ring is communal and can be used anytime during their stay.

Other things to note
We have two border collies running free when we are on property. They will bark at new cars, we will be there should that happen. Once they are familiar they settle down quickly. Check us out on Instagram at @le_petit_chev for regular updates!

Vinton County is our home-base, we love our local town, the closeness to all trails in Hocking Hills State Park and great smoked food at Lake Hope Lodge. In the warmer months, kayaking, paddle boarding, and pantooning on Lake Hope make for a nice afternoon. Guests who are interested in the local culture can also learn about the coal mining history, visit Lake Hope Furnace, Zaleski State Forest and go ghost hunting at Moonville Tunnel. Local festivals keep guests entertained, such as the Turkey Festival in May, Midnight at Moonville and Roar Day at Lake Hope in October, and the Vinton County Fair end of July.
Outdoor activities like visiting waterfalls and caves, zip-lining, horseback riding, swimming in the Lakes, backpacking etc., can all be found in Hocking Hills State Park.
We are located 15 minutes by car from McArthur and 10 min by car from Ash Cave.
The area offers unique restaurants with the closest being a 15 minute drive and the furthest being max 45 minutes away. Check out dining in Hocking Hills, Athens, Chillicothe, Logan and Mc Arthur.
For those who enjoy spa and massage treatments, we have the Spa at Ash Cave or at the Inn at Cedar Falls as well as traveling Spa coming to the Loft. Great yoga classes are offered in Athens Ohio, our unique university town.
If the weather makes you stay indoors, towns like Athens, Nelsonville and Chillicothe offer movie theaters, bowling and ice skating, besides many bars and coffee shops.
The Winery Loft is truly located in the heart of it all, yet far enough away to still be nestled deep in the serene countryside.

Planting and living on a vineyard taught me many things, love for people, appreciation for nature, patience and gratitude every time we harvest. We opened our place to travelers so we can share this beautiful area and as a traveler myself I always love meeting new people from all walks of life and countries. Growing up on a farm in Germany also makes me a German speaker if need be.
