This is my own home when I'm in San Miguel. I am a decorator and have put my heart into decorating this home. It is filled with lots of Mexican antiques and art, some of which I created. It is a truly very special place to be. I absolutely love my time here. I run to the window or terrace countless times just to see what parade with marching band is going by now! It leaves no question that I am in the real and authentic Mexico
Talking about location, it is wonderful being so close to the jardin/town square. It's just an 8 minute downhill walk. The location is super convenient; taxis go right by the house every few minutes so it's very easy to go anywhere you want to go. Then there's the bus stop right across the street. Take it up the hill to the shopping center with a fabulous supermarket and cineplexes showing the latest movies.

Lynn was the perfect host. There was two people waiting for us when we checked in and oriented us to the place. The house was well appointed and the terrace room was spectacular. We were there for New Year's and my husband's elderly parents stayed behind and could see all the fireworks from their window. The house has a security system and it helped us feel safe. Well worth the stay in San Miguel!

From the moment I saw the picture, which is pretty much the view from the house, that's where I wanted to stay. The place had everything I wanted: full kitchen, living room, separate bedrooms, proximity to town, etc., but it was almost not to be. The house just so happened to be booked on the day I arrived in San Miguel. But I persevered hoping to find a way to make it work. And so did Lynn. Had it not been for her personal touch and proactive interest in my schedule, all might have been lost. She immediately began working with me to find a solution: maybe a day shift here, a little time juggling there... and lo! Up came her AirBnB listing as available the day following my arrival, and I could work with that. The words "customer service" aren't quite appropriate here; I think "gracious host", maybe even "personal concierge" to be more appropriate. Lynn was on it! She made it all happen with both friendly and timely correspondence. And to be completely honest, a one day delay seemed like a minor detail once I felt that she was as interested as I was with my getting settled in the house. The place was actually more than I expected - lovely, clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, and all the conveniences of one's own home. Suffice it to say, my entire experience in San Miguel revolved around the house, and all of it was fabulous.

I am so happy that we had the opportunity to stay in one of Lynn's place in San Miguel de Allende. They were very helpful...even booked bus tickets for us from Guadalajara when we were struggling to do it online. Also had groceries there for us when we arrived on Christmas Eve. Anytime we needed something, they responded promptly. I would definitely stay with them again. And the view IS spectacular!

San Miguel de Allende is a magical place and we are so grateful to have had the chance to stay at Lynn's lovely home nestled in the hills above this charming town. The home itself has incredible views from the top floor balcony and was located convenient to town --- everything within walking distance. The home has been completely remodeled with everything new and clean and nice in the home. The rooms are large and well appointed, each of them very comfortable. The master bedroom is especially nice with an incredible bathroom and a large deck that looks out over San Miguel and the entire area. The rental company was very thorough in our arrival and provided us with a ton of information about getting to San Miguel and making sure we got to the house with ease. If you've never been to San Miguel, it's always good to have a really good rental company that makes sure your journey into town is smooth. The town has old world charm and the streets can be a bit tricky at first. So we really appreciated their help. The house itself comes with a purified water system which was great because it's always a concern. The beds were very comfortable and the house was complete with everything you need. Well appointed kitchen, great living space and plenty of privacy for couples or small groups of travelers. However, there were a few things that need to be considered when renting this house. The house is beautiful, but stuffy. There are no windows on the back side of the house so air doesn't flow very well at all inside. When you walk in, you can feel that it's stuffy. It's also located on an extremely busy street that is VERY noisy. Even with the double-paned windows and doors, the noise is always present. And in order to combat the stuffiness, you have to open the windows and deal with busses and cars all going up and down a main artery that leads in and out of town. The balcony is lovely with sweeping views, but you have to access it through the master bedroom so that is also a consideration. Anyone and everyone that wants to go to the balcony and soak in the views have to pass through your bedroom. And again, the noise is extreme. Finally, location wise, everything is within walking distance, that's true. And it's all down hill. BUT, coming back it's all UP HILL and I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who isn't prepared for a serious uphill hike. Of course, you can always take a cab for 30-40 pesos back to the house, which was never a problem. But for those who come with the idea of walking be prepared because the walk itself is a bit strenuous. Also, the internet didn't work in the house.

I have always loved to fix and design. When I began my real estate career, selling new construction homes, I soon realized that the best part of the job was meeting with interior designers and architects and watching as the more artistic elements of the construction fell into place. After 13 years of owning a real estate company, I built two spec homes on magical Orcas Island in Washington State. Then I undertook a major remodel of a cabin on the water. Something clicked in me during that process of transforming the cabin; I knew I had found my passion….remodeling.

Throughout the next twelve years, I transformed some 30 rather creaky homes into fresh, livable residences, all in the Seattle area. Then I decided to turn my attention to designing and remodeling vacation homes; vacation rentals with personality. In 2005, I moved to Mexico, the land of color and craft, and began working there. In 2010 I did a remodel of a 1928 two bedroom apartment in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Then back to Mexico in 2011.

The most exciting phase of building a new place is when everything gets pulled together. I love the details, making sure that one thing plays with another in perfect harmony. I’m always on the hunt for that specific hand-selected ingredient. The beauty of Latin America is being able to design a particular piece that can be made by one of the many talented artisans. Seeing it all come together like a glorious puzzle is very rewarding.

Be my guest at one of eight different and individually unique accommodations in San Miguel de Allende:
“Casa Artistas” on San Francisco Street has a one bedroom casita and two studio apartments with kitchenettes, the Frida and Diego Studios.
”Casa de la Vista, a movie star hide-away” is a three bedroom view home on Salida a Queretaro.
“The Actors Studios” is on Animas Street. It consists of four apartments with kitchens and fireplaces…the Salma Hayek, the Ricardo Montalban, the Dolores del Rio and the Anthony Quinn.

And while you’re at it, check out the “House of Chanel”, a historical, art deco two bedroom apartment in Buenos Aires.
