Katherine is a very hospitable host who really made us feel at home. We enjoyed the shared kitchen, a chefs kitchen. It was nice to spend time with the other guests and Katherine when we were cooking and eating.
The Bahamian room has a wonderful view over the Indian river. Highly recommendable to book.
Kathy is a very welcoming hostess. Not only did we have access to the several common areas of this beautiful house – sunroom, dining areas, deck – but we could also help ourselves to the refrigerator and pantry for breakfast / snacks /wine. Our bedroom and ensuite bathroom were large and comfortable. The view of the river from the bedroom was fantastic.
The location is great, only 15 minutes from the Kennedy Space Center.
We were lucky enough to have dinner together, with Kathy leading preparations and the guests assisting her. It was delicious and provided a relaxing setting to get to know our fellow travelers.
We highly recommend a stay with Kathy.
The accommodations were clean, attractive, well maintained and charming as pictured.. even better! Katherine is an exemplary host. She is thoughtful, professional, kind, personable, accomplished and extremely likable. The driving directions she offered transformed my various excursions from 'traveler's anxiety treks' into charming drives. Coffee in the morning and light snacks, as well as sharing a dinner upon arrival made for a memorable experience. Katherine greeted me when I arrived and provided a professional and easy to remember tour. I felt welcomed, respected and enjoyed a sense of privacy, safety and independence. The actual property exceeded the listing presentation by being a little more substantial and upscale. The home is quite large and a great property to accommodate a group of friends traveling together. The historic neighborhood is very well maintained and the houses along her drive evoke images of a gated posh Hollywood era of days gone by-- intermingled with interesting and impressive newer homes--all very attractive and exclusive. She lives on a private drive along the river which is absolutely charming. You can watch dolphins with complimentary coffee, juice, fruits and breads in the morning from the 4 seasons room with doors open. She brought in Half and Half for my coffee addiction! Katherine clearly cares about her guests and provides brochures for local attractions, offering non-touristy advice which proved invaluable time and again. She made everything outside her discretely marked private quarters available in the generously sized gathering areas of the home. I phoned her when I arrived in Orlando and inquired about where I might eat that evening. When I arrived, she invited me to join her and a friend for grilled tuna on artisan greens, pasta primavera and a caprice salad! I felt like I was enjoying a relaxing evening with old friends! The location is private and exclusive, yet minutes to key highways servicing destinations from Cocoa Beach, the general Cape Coast and Melbourne to Titusville. Present in the morning and evening, she was mindful of her guests' time with a perfect balance between her availability and your privacy. This was my first airbnb experience and I expect it will be difficult for others to match. I definitely recommend Katherine's property for single women, noting as well several young couples staying from Europe were really quite pleased with the lovely river drive for jogging and Katherine's caring presence and local tips. The private bath, jacuzzi and ample closet were charming and functional. When I return to the area, I will definitely try to book this room as soon as possible. As an aside... the sheets are fragrance free and she was comfortable discussing allergies. The home is pet free. As a hospitality industry professional she is direct, practical, helpful, highly likable and very accommodating of her boarders needs. I highly recommend this room for someone who is avoiding the big hotel experience yet accustomed to nicer accommodations. I hope to return here on my next trip to the area.
Kathy's home is beautifully decorated and she is a marvelous host. The location is superb and the views spectacular - I watched the sunrise on the river dock and couldn't have wished for a better way to start the day. I highly recommend both Kathy and this property.
Katherine and Dusan are gracious, kind and helpful hosts. Their house has a spacious and open feel, but also provides plenty of private spaces for reading and relaxation. Beautiful views of the Indian River and Merritt Island are a fantastic part of a great stay and short drives to Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center and Orlando make this home a fabulous headquarters for a south-Florida vacation. Absolutely recommended!
My husband & I decided we just had to get out of town to celebrate our Valentines Anniversary. We booked a really lovely room, overlooking the river. It was our delight to wake up to a spectacular sunrise over the water. We smelled rich roasted coffee aromas as we pranced down the wooden stairs into the airy dining area. Breakfast was delightful and the company/conversation with our Hostess brightened our day. We love this well kept secret...and can't wait to go back!
Katherine was the most amazing host!
My husband and i came to Cocoa Beach to get away from the cold of the Midwest and thought we would spend most of our time on the beach. Katherines home, overlooking the Indian River, quickly became our home away from home. In the morning, we were greated by sunshine and palm trees, wonderful coffee with light breakfast and fabulous conversation with Katherine. She is a very engaging, thoughtful host who gives you as much space as wanted. My husband and i are already planning our trip back next year and will be looking forward to staying with her again.

Hello, I'm Katherine a well travelled Chef that has been trying to retire for years, but can't seem to get the kitchen out of my blood. In my travels I have had the good fortune of meeting great people that hosted me and remain my friends many years later. Perhaps as a host I can pay the experience forward. I love people, food, fun, a good cocktail and mostly laughing; any kind will do.
I live a simple, uncluttered life, as you can probably see in the pictures of my home. At this stage of my life the only things I collect are friends, love and memories.
My home is not stuffy, please put your feet up, stretch out for a snooze on the couch, my house is designed for COMFORT!
Mutual respect and clear understanding are key.
