  • What a great find! We stayed a week at the Manatee Q Haven, and it was perfect. Accommodations were clean and comfortable, including a kitchen where we could make meals. We used the unit's bikes and kayaks regularly, and we thoroughly enjoyed the lovable manatees in the canal next to our place. It was great living in a neighborhood but taking day trips for snorkeling, kayaking the Everglades, visiting Key West, and hanging out at beaches. Our hosts were terrific--they really enjoyed sharing this gem of a place with their guests. Joel and Peggy

  • I had a wonderful time in the Key's. My hosts Chanoch Shiloh was so pleasant. He answered all my questions and had some great recommendations for places to explore. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the Pilot House. I would recommend this host and will definitely return. The Manatee Q Haven had everything I needed. It was a good location and accessible to the adventures in Key Largo. It was off the main road so I was able to escape the noise and relax. It was a fun time hanging out with the Manatee's.

Can't wait to return. Thank you, Valerie

  • We enjoyed our stay at Manatee Queen Haven at Key Largo Village! It is located on a canal where we were able to see Manatees twice! It is perfect for a couple who wants access to a full kitchen. The access to the dock, bbq, bikes and kayaks are a huge plus. We also really enjoyed meeting the other airbnb folks staying in the houseboat and attached unit.
We wished the rental was a bit more fully stocked- there was very little toilet paper and just 2 old towels for our use when we arrived.
Overall, a great time! Key Largo is a funky, low-key, beautiful place. While in the area we enjoyed the private beach, going to Pennecamp state park and the sunset dock near the property. Definitely swim, kayak to the mangroves, relax on the dock. The Pilot House was good for happy hour and the Juice House for breakfast.

  • This was an amazing place to stay! Key Largo is so chill (better than Key West in our opinion). The Manatee Queen Haven is in a cozy trailer park next to a canal and really close to groceries and restaurants. It's a bit of a haul to Key West, so plan on a day trip out (~2 hour drive no matter what time of day due to speed limits), but there's plenty to do in Key Largo and the keys close by. Giana and Chanoch were super friendly - we grabbed coffee with them one morning, played with their dog Luigi, and were given some great restaurant recommendations. They even have manatees in the canal! We saw a flipper and two manatee backs, but our neighbors (there's a houseboat in the back that's also rented out) saw 8 manatees including babies! The place was cute, had a homey touch (check out the tiling in their bathroom!), and perfect for a relaxing stay at the Keys!

    Response from Chanoch:

Glad you had a great time:) and enjoying our manatee queen haven:) It was a joy for us to get to know you , hear about your trip to Dry Tortugas and enjoying your wonderful spirits!

  • This is a lovely place - perfect location for visiting key largo, john pennekamp coral reef (amazing scuba diving) and the everglades as well as being peaceful & v, comfortable (I wished we could've taken the bed home!). Gianna is a PERFECT host, so welcoming and accommodating, I wish we could've spent more time getting to know her and Chanoch (&Luigi). We'll be back!

  • We had a wonderful time! Giana and Chanoch were very hospitable. Chanoch was kind enough to pick us up from the Greyhound bus station and we got to know both Giana and Chanoch over a meal at The Pilot House. Highlights of the trip were definitely seeing manatees, kayaking in the everglades, and biking to local produce stands. The patio connected to the Manatee Haven is a "common area" and was often visited by other guests hoping to spot manatees. So, this may not be the place for you if you're looking to isolate yourself.

  • Chanoch and Giana were totally helpful and generous when I was there (in the apt. not the boat) for two weeks working on a novel/. The place was immaculate and tasteful. Most comfortable bed ever. You control the temp.yourself. Beautiful shower, inside and out. . She took me kayaking and he supplied everything I could possibly want - within minutes of my asking - easy chair, bike, etc etc.. Since no one was on the house-boat I sat on the deck it to do my writing so it was as if I had two places at once. I found Key Largo itself not the best place to hang out alone and just write for two weeks as it has no town center or coffee shop and no way of interacting casually with others - it was isolating - but that is in no way their fault - they were great hosts. Never saw a manatee but Gianna said they were there and I didn't know how to look and she is probably right.

  • Quiet and off the beaten path, close to everything!

  • We loved our stay in Key Largo at the Romance Manatee Q Haven! We took advantage of the kayaks, bikes, beach chairs and fantastic location. This property is spacious enough to spread out and just cozy enough to feel quaint and to encourage quality time with one another. At first we wondered about the plausibility of seeing the manatees but by our second day we were greeted by two in the canal and were able to swim with a very sweet one that afternoon. Chanoch was helpful and incredibly warm. We look forward to returning.

  • Absolutely recommend!
Stayed in the Manatee Queen while visiting the Keys with my parents, and we could not have loved the place more! The house is meticulously clean, well-equipped and incredibly charming. Works ideal for a couple, but could also (as with us) host an extra person on the futon in the living room. Surroundings are perfect to get into the relaxed lifestyle of the Keys, still with plenty of things to do both locally (swim with Manatees if you dare, chill at the beach, kayak or bike) and for daily excursions (Key West, South Everglades, John Pennekamp). We unfortunately never got to meet Chanoch (who was traveling at the time) but received all the attention and care one could possibly ask from a host through the lovely Giana! We were in fact made so comfortable that we not only prolonged our stay with 2 nights, my parents also chose to go back for another 4 nights after seeing me off in Miami/F Lauderdale! Also, without having lived in either of them, the two houseboats in more or less the same place are both incredibly well-situated and charming/alternative ways to experience living in the Keys! Make a reservation, you won't regret it!

HI! When I am not running my business, I am a projects guy- I love fixing up my vacation home rentals in Key Largo Florida. The renovation team consists of us- fun-loving couple that are passionate about life, music, art, gardens and our wonderful black lab that travels everywhere with Giana. We have hosted guests from all over the world: in our Brooklyn, NY home since 1992 and now in Key Largo Florida. We love kayaking & fishing all through the waters of Key Largo and Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn, biking along the bike paths of Key Largo, or Prospect Park, Brooklyn, snorkeling at John Pennecamp State Park. We love traveling, and with that comes learning languages - we speak a little German and Italian and speak Hebrew fluently. We are involved in many projects where we can spread compassion and generate good. They tend to mesh and outgrow from our interests and projects. We are involved in the Arts- both creating and supporting. I play accordian and Giana, the piano. Our movie tastes range from Casablanca to Under the Tuscan Sun- then again, they are both love stories:) We both love to cook, especially with friend and family. What's it like having us as hosts? First, we do this because we enjoy it- meeting new people, making people happy and sharing the great things our places have to share. We are flexible to what you need in your stay with us- help with shows, a desk for your room, hanging out with us or wanting your privacy. Our places have plenty of space, communal and private, porches, gardens, indoor kitchens and outdoor BBQs. Common occurrences: will meet you at the door, hot coffee, ice water or beer/wine to share; take you on boat or kayak tours of our beautiful bay; We both enjoy meeting new people and helping with making our places a good retreat. Giana had worked in the health care field and now her 'patients' are renovating our places and decorating! We are always doing something- gardening, new colors, adding a new kitchen tool. So if there is something you need, or would like, just ask-- it may be in our basement waiting to be used:) We are conscientious about keeping our places clean, bug free; We expect our guests to be respectful of our home. We think time away from the normal routines of life is important and vacations should be easy to enjoy. Easy to rejuvenate! Let us know if they need something, having a good time and visiting again:)
