Deshka Landing Charters & Lodge is a 90 min drive NW of Anchorage. Our Dolly Varden Cabin is perfect for families. The kitchen allows you to easily prepare your own meals and the bathroom has all essentials. Cabin has heat, electricity and internet TV. We are off the beaten path surrounded by the beauty and wildlife of Alaska. A good hub while you explore Central Alaska including: Denali National Park, Matanuska Glacier, Talkeetna and Hatcher Pass. The space
The Dolly Varden cabin is designed for families. The bathroom is supplied with: towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, q-tips, body wash and a hair dryer. The kitchen allows you to easily prepare your own meals. It is furnished with: a small fridge/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, pots & pans, coffee pot, dishes, serving ware, silverware and basic cooking utensils. We also keep some staples on hand: coffee & filters, salt & pepper, spices, olive oil. There is a convenience store near the lodge turn off from Parks Hwy that offers some basic groceries. There is also a full grocery store in Wasilla. Ask about our additional “for fee” services including continental breakfast, sack lunches and homemade dinners.

Guest access
Guests will have keypad access to their own private cabin. They will also be able to share in the enjoyment all the amenities of the Main Lodge including: Direct TV/fireplace lounge area, WiFi, private bathrooms/showers, puzzles, books, and a sharing library of books. Because most of our guests have come to Alaska to enjoy the out-of-doors, all of our guests are able to share the outdoor amenities of the property including: lawn games, fire pits, grill and picnic areas. Other things to note
*Our lodge is located within the Deshka Landing which has a private entrance. To reach the lodge, guests will need to retrieve a key from a lockbox and open a gate. The lodge is only a few hundred yards from the gate. We'll send details with check-in info.
*Although we welcome families of all ages - please keep in mind our property is not child proofed. Children must always be monitored .
*We have a dog that roams the property freely.
*We have INCLUDED the 5% Matanuska Susitna Borough Bed Tax in our rate. You WILL NOT be asked to pay any additional tax after booking.
* Please take into consideration our check-in/departure times when booking your stay. Our check in time is 3pm and checkout is 11am. We will do our very best to accommodate early arrivals and late checkout times upon request but please note it is never a guarantee and will be subject to change. Pending availability, we do honor an hour grace period at checkout until 12pm at no additional charge. Should you wish to extend your check out time past 12pm, you have the option for a $50 half day rate up until 8pm the evening of your checkout OR $15 per hour after 12pm. The same goes for an early arrival (again, pending availability).

Deshka Landing Charters and Lodge is a 90 minute drive northwest of Anchorage. We are seven miles off Parks Hwy on paved roads. Parks Hwy runs from Wasilla north to Fairbanks. We are off the beaten path but our location is a good hub for exploring Central Alaska. Nearby points of interest include Denali National Park, Matanuska Glacier, Hatcher Pass, many scenic lakes and the towns of Palmer, Wasilla and Talkeetna. We are on the Deshka Landing of the Susitna River, an area surrounded by wilderness and wildlife. The river and lake fishing is fantastic! You can walk part of the historic Iditarod trail from our backyard.
