overlooking the City of Bend and a stunning view of the Cascade mountains. Please note: we have another room here as well-room with mountain views scroll down to find.Note, follow directions on listing;(website hidden) map is currently in error.I need to add at this point, that we don't allow babies as we have other guests to be concerned about and this is not a child friendly casa.I am sorry this has to be.
We offer the master bedroom with a luxury bath including double sinks, a walk-in double headed travertine stone shower and a
whirlpool Jacuzzi tub. You will have your own entrance with a
lovely little stone courtyard to enjoy your tea or coffee watching the sun come up. A queen size bed, table and chairs, internet
connection and TV are yours to enjoy.
Guests are free to be private or utilize three other courtyards and
the west end deck to watch the last rays of the sun. Also, we have
a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room to enjoy on the cooler
evenings. A stone patio with benches and a small clay fireplace sits outside the southern bedroom wall for your use.
Our Casa is in the High Desert area of sagebrush, rock outcroppings and ancient junipers (like large Bonsai trees)
where in winter we have much less snow and it is warmer than south and west Bend.Less shade and more sun.
Watch the weather fronts move over the Cascades. Oh, and a
tipi is set-up in the warmer months.
A feeling of privacy exists on our 5 acres where you can frequently see deer below; or, at the birdfeeders, raptors catching the thermals and migratory birds feed and water outside the windows.
Being on a butte with four main roads below means many people enjoy the routes to bicycle and get their burn coming up and
racing down again. Two routes pass over the nearby Deschutes
River with fishing, hiking trails, kyaking and swimming available.
Smith Rocks State Park (world class) climbing and hiking area
is fourteen miles north of us, the Redmond airport, easy access to Highway 20 to Sisters, OR, the wilderness area of the Badlands is east, not far away, and the north end shopping malls
of Bend to our south.
A perfect get-away for the writer, artist, both for the stunning open
sky views, desert terrain and sense of peace and creativity.
A treadmill is available as is a continental breakfast or a full old
fashioned styled one. We use healthy foods.
A second guest bedroom is also available. Want a different Bend
experience, come enjoy an amazing place, where at night, the lights of Bend seem like the shore seen from a boat, and away

Wayne and Sonnie's place was perfect for us. Super inviting. Wayne told us about some awesome funk music that was playing that night in Bend and made us delicious breakfast in the morning. We would definitely stay with him again.
My boyfriend and I needed to quickly book a room for a wedding we were attending. We just moved to the area from the east coast and have no familiarity with the area. Wayne and Sonnie were able to take us in and book our room for us right away and put our minds at ease. Communicated with Sonnie that we may be late for check in and she was very helpful at making sure we got to our room easily. Pulling up to their home, I was immediately impressed with the view and the outside of the house. I couldn't wait to see the inside. It was just as beautiful. It's wonderfully decorated and has a very welcoming feel. We got back from the wedding later than expected. Wanye put the path lights on for us so we could get in easily and made plans for breakfast in the morning. Wanye made us an amazing breakfast and is a great conservationist. Would love to come back again the future for another visit!
Wayne and Sonnie were the perfect hosts in an idyllic location. The house and the surrounding ancient landscape is a rare kind of place that deserved more nights than we sadly had to spare. Wayne's breakfast was sensational - hearty, local, generous and downright delicious. Wayne and Sonnie are generous, open people with fascinating stories and kind hearts.
Wayne and Sonnie were lovely, engaging hosts. The views are brilliant and we enjoyed getting to know more about them. Thank you for hosting us!
When AirBnb is at its best, it's magic, and we had that experience with Wayne and Sonnie. Our excitement built as we drove towards the house and saw the spectacular view and location. Wayne welcomed us as warmly as can be imagined. Our delight only grew as we settled in and enjoyed the beautiful room and luxurious master bath. In the morning Wayne cooked a hearty and delicious breakfast, which we enjoyed as much as getting to know our fellow guests and gracious hosts. Overall the experience was personal, relaxing, and we were so touched by the generosity of spirit that surrounds every aspect of their home. We are really looking forward to coming back... you couldn't possibly do better in the Bend area!
Wayne stayed in great communication with us as we neared Santa Fe Pueblo on a Cliff near Bend, Or. He and Sonnie keep a lovely home furnished with so much cultural art and artifacts, many native to the area.
Wayne welcomed us to their home on arrival and showed us around the homestead. Our rooms were comfortable nicely decoratesd The air conditioning worked very well for the time we needed it.
My daughter, her husband, my husband and I reserved both rooms that are available. It's a great location, a bed and breakfast at it's heart.
Wayne prepared wonderful breakfasts both mornings we were there. Crepes, creams, seasonal fruits, eggs, ham, ( with a choice of hot sauces.) The Frencs-press coffee was so good too.
This is a great place to stay for two adult couples. We enjoyed Ginger, the senior canine member of the household.
Another wonderful visit with Wayne and Sonnie! We look forward to their hospitality, openness, and great humor every time we come through Central Oregon. Can't wait till the next time.... Thanks again!
