Staying here is a visual delight. The view of the city and mountains is enthralling. The architecture and interior design as well as the art collected adds to the ambiance with the feeling of being in New Mexico. Not far away is the delightful town of Sisters and north of here is Redmond and Smith Rock State Park, with world class rock climbing.

We love sharing our casa with people from far and near and serving delicious healthy breakfasts is my delight and yours as well.

The space
Our Santa Fe styled pueblo sits on top of Long Butte, six (6) miles
north of Bend on a beautiful rimrock with a 180+ view east to west
overlooking the City of Bend and a stunning view of the Cascade Mountains. We also have another room here as well-room with mountain views scroll down to view that room.

The map sends you up 85th Place, but it is a rough gravel road. Off the Tumalo Rd., take 78th St. to the stop sign at Limestone, turn left, go to end where it turns left downhill, fork right and our casa is on the left.

We offer the master bedroom with a luxury bath including double sinks, a walk-in double headed travertine stone shower and a
whirlpool Jacuzzi tub. You will have your own entrance with a
lovely little stone courtyard to enjoy your tea or coffee watching the sun come up. A queen size bed, table and chairs, internet
connection and TV are yours to enjoy.

Guests are free to be private or utilize three other courtyards and
the west end deck to watch the last rays of the sun. Also, we have
a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room to enjoy on the cooler
evenings. A stone patio with benches and a small clay fireplace sits outside the southern bedroom wall for your use.

Our Casa is in the High Desert area of sagebrush, rock outcroppings and ancient junipers (like large Bonsai trees) where in winter we have much less snow and it is warmer than south and west Bend. Less shade and more sun.
Watch the weather fronts move over the Cascades. Oh, and a
tipi is set-up in the warmer months.

A feeling of privacy exists on our 5 acres where you can frequently see deer below; or, at the bird feeders, raptors catching the thermals and migratory birds feed and water outside the windows.

Being on a butte with four main roads below means many people enjoy the routes to bicycle and get their burn coming up and
racing down again. Two routes pass over the nearby Deschutes
River with fishing, hiking trails, kayaking and swimming available.

Smith Rock State Park with world class rock climbing and hiking area
is fourteen miles north of us, the Redmond airport, easy access to Highway 20 to the quaint town of Sisters, the wilderness area of the Badlands and the north end shopping malls of Bend are close by.

A perfect get-away for the writer, artist, both for the stunning open
sky views, desert terrain and sense of peace and creativity.

A treadmill is available as is a continental breakfast or a full old
fashioned styled one. We use healthy foods.

A second guest bedroom is also available. Want a different Bend
experience, come enjoy an amazing place, where at night, the lights of Bend seem like the shore seen from a boat, and away
from the City lights glow, see a sparkling night sky. We have
plenty of parking.

Thank you for choosing us.

Sonnie passed into the Light after a long fight with cancer. She was the influence for building this Pueblo. I honor her as a widow and continue the blessings this space offers.. Wayne is an artistic stone mason, sculptor and beaded necklace, earring artist. we enjoy travel rock-hounding,exploring,hiking photography.Music and dancing is vital for me;metaphysical and medical things excite Sonnie. We delight in good conversation, meeting people, good food and wine.I want to invite guests who are interested in stone masonry and beading to join us for one on one lessons in either or both categories. I.I will give hands on lessons.Air conditioner issues have been resolved.I need to make a disclaimer here. Most of my reviews are 5 star and some stellar ,I am on a dialysis machine in my bedroom ever night.I have less energy before my kidneys (Website hidden by Airbnb) excuses, but I am doing this Airbnb alone, have a cleaner twice a month.I am an anomaly to most airbnbs as I cook a full delicious breakfast.I live here, this is a working man's house.Things in the yard, projects to complete.I don't claim this is a resort experience.I do my best. The bedrooms and bathrooms I strive to be impeccable. The public part of the house is lived in.If you are very fastidious,a perfectionist then this Airbnb is not for you.Thank you.
