Our Santa Fe styled pueblo sits on top of Long Butte six (6) miles
north of Bend on a beautiful rimrock and a 180+ view east to west
overlooking the City of Bend and a stunning view of the Cascade mountains. Please note: we have another room here as well-room with mountain views scroll down to find.Note, follow directions on listing;(website hidden) map is currently in error.
We offer the master bedroom with a luxury bath including double sinks, a walk-in double headed travertine stone shower and a
whirlpool Jacuzzi tub. You will have your own entrance with a
lovely little stone courtyard to enjoy your tea or coffee watching the sun come up. A queen size bed, table and chairs, internet
connection and TV are yours to enjoy.
Guests are free to be private or utilize three other courtyards and
the west end deck to watch the last rays of the sun. Also, we have
a beautiful stone fireplace in the living room to enjoy on the cooler
evenings. A stone patio with benches and a small clay fireplace sits outside the southern bedroom wall for your use.
Our Casa is in the High Desert area of sagebrush, rock outcroppings and ancient junipers (like large Bonsai trees)
where in winter we have much less snow and it is warmer than south and west Bend.Less shade and more sun.
Watch the weather fronts move over the Cascades. Oh, and a
tipi is set-up in the warmer months.
A feeling of privacy exists on our 5 acres where you can frequently see deer below; or, at the birdfeeders, raptors catching the thermals and migratory birds feed and water outside the windows.
Being on a butte with four main roads below means many people enjoy the routes to bicycle and get their burn coming up and
racing down again. Two routes pass over the nearby Deschutes
River with fishing, hiking trails, kyaking and swimming available.
Smith Rocks State Park (world class) climbing and hiking area
is fourteen miles north of us, the Redmond airport, easy access to Highway 20 to Sisters, OR, the wilderness area of the Badlands is east, not far away, and the north end shopping malls
of Bend to our south.
A perfect get-away for the writer, artist, both for the stunning open
sky views, desert terrain and sense of peace and creativity.
A treadmill is available as is a continental breakfast or a full old
fashioned styled one. We use healthy foods.
A second guest bedroom is also available. Want a different Bend
experience, come enjoy an amazing place, where at night, the lights of Bend seem like the shore seen from a boat, and away
from the City lights glow, see a sparkling night sky. We have
plenty of parking.

A beautiful home with a breathtaking view. Wayne made delicious breakfast and catered to our food allergies. It was nice to be able to come and go from a separate door to our room. However, the communication was not great before our arrival.
Wayne and Sonnie were great hosts for our one night stay in Bend. We loved the location of their Casa, which was outside of Bend where it was nice and quiet but still a very quick drive into town. The house and grounds are lovely, they have definitely added their own artistic character to the whole property. They are a welcoming, friendly, warm couple with whom we felt at home with immediately. Wayne cooked us an amazing breakfast in the morning which we enjoyed while having lively conversation with the two. We definitely plan to keep Wayne and Sonnie's house in mind for our next Bend trip, only next time it will be longer than a one night stay!
We had an awesome stay with Wayne this past weekend! We arrived intending to only stay one night, but ended up staying all weekend. You can't really beat the view of the mountains, especially during sunset. We stayed in the master suite, which has a lovely master bath with a jacuzzi tub, a double head shower, and luxury bath products. Not to mention a bedroom with quite the view. But our favorite place to be was outside, walking the pathways around the main house and stumbling upon the intentionally placed stones, sculptures, desert artifacts, and seating areas. And as everyone else has stated, Wayne makes delicious breakfasts! Thank you for taking care of us and inspiring us last weekend, we will be back.
Another great stay and Wayne and Sonnie's villa!
Excellent warm hosts each visit with a great breakfast to boot. Beautiful views with unique sitting places around the back. Always be sure to check out Wayne's studio and his fantastic hand crafted jewelry.
What a wonderful stay - we couldn't have been happier. Wayne's breakfasts were phenomenal, and the couple's company was very nice. The view is great, and the house has lots of great little details (beautiful stonework, artwork, our room had a double-headed shower, etc.) We wish we lived closer so we could visit again!
This is a wonderful place to stay: clean, luxurious, comfortable, and with inviting and friendly hosts.
We went to Bend to ride the Twin Bridges Scenic Bikeway. The amazing bathtub and shower at the Pueblo was wonderful to clean off the road dirt, we felt brand new! We highly recommend staying here.
We had a fabulous stay with Wayne and Sonnie! The home was beautiful and the room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was gorgeous with Jacuzzi, two sinks, and two shower heads. The breakfast was delicious (they even made me special food because I'm Gluten Free). I highly recommend staying here!
