Ideal for chilling, birdwatching or white water kayaking. We're located right on the banks of the Nile overlooking the white water rapid "Bubugo" and "Superhole", an awesome freestyle kayak surf wave. It's a beautiful location with the sound of the river to keep you company, a lot of trees and birds and a beautiful starlit sky at night... Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).

The space
Our home is a special space- we live an outdoors lifestyle and enjoy being surrounded by nature. We have three tented rooms. The tent house is located in our semi-wild garden space. Its a simple room with double bed, cot and a desk. It has a wooden floor, canvas walls, a roof and an open walled verandah on the front. We also have two Safari tents located on the property, with double beds. There are three single bed sofas in roofed but I walled areas, and plenty of camping space in the garden which can be used with your own tent- these spaces are charged extra per person once you have more than six adults booked into the Safari tents. We have an outdoor cold shower and long drop toilet, outdoor shade area, outdoor kitchen and small store room. We use solar electricity to run the basics. We have a gas cooker and often Bbq. We have a small organic farm with a cow, goats and a variety of crops.

There are a number of local footpaths around which can be used to walk along the riverbank, through the neighboring pine forest and down to Itanda Falls (about 1.5km away). You can also bike around if you bring your bike, swim and fish in the river, go for a run, or enjoy some yoga with one of our yoga mats.

Where you’ll be

Jinja, Eastern Region, Uganda

We are located in rural Uganda, and our relationship with our local community is very important to us. It is therefore important that our guests respect this and dress/behave appropriately when out and about locally. There are no amenities nearby and we are quite self sufficient. Any shopping needs to be brought from Jinja town or the basics from our local village. There are lots of footpaths to explore along the riverbank, walking upriver through crop land or down river through the forest to Itanda falls.

During your stay

We both work across two continents and are parents to our young children. We also manage the farm and land, and have a number of community projects we oversee. And we love to kayak. So, we are quite busy, but we are interested to meet people and learn about their lives and experiences! Depending on our schedules we may be around to meet you, otherwise our staff will welcome and look after you and we'll be available online/on the phone to help answer any questions.
