Ideal for chilling, birdwatching or white water kayaking. We're located right on the banks of the Nile overlooking the white water rapid "Bubugo" and "Superhole", an awesome freestyle kayak surf wave. It's a beautiful location with the sound of the river to keep you company, a lot of trees and birds and a beautiful starlit sky at night... Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). A portion of your accommodation fee supports our community conservation projects.
The space
Our home is a special space- we live an outdoors lifestyle and enjoy being surrounded by nature. We have three tented rooms. The first is a simple room with double bed, cot and a desk. It has a wooden floor, canvas walls, a roof and an open walled verandah on the front. We also have two Safari tents located on the property, with double beds. There are three single bed sofas in roofed but un-walled areas, and plenty of camping space in the garden which can be used with your own tent- these spaces are charged extra per person once you have more than six adults booked into the Safari tents. We have an outdoor cold shower and long drop toilet, outdoor shade area, outdoor kitchen and small store room. We use solar electricity to run the basics. We have a gas cooker and often Bbq. We have a small organic farm with a cow, goats and a variety of crops.
There are a number of local footpaths around which can be used to walk along the riverbank, through the neighbouring pine forest and down to Itanda Falls (about 1.5km away). You can also bike around if you bring your bike, swim and fish in the river, go for a run or just chill out!
Guest access
You will have exclusive use of our property. You can enjoy the garden, look around the farm (help out if you like!), enjoy the river. Swim in our bay or one of the many others along the riverbank. You can use our shaded living room area with couch and table, and our picnic table. You can cook in our kitchen/on the bbq, and keep a small amount of perishables in our cooler boxes (but you need to bring your own ice blocks), and other food in our storeroom. You can use our discreet outdoor toilet and shower. There are some solar lights In the store and kitchen and solar lights in the tents. The main tent does have a solar power system but this must not be overloaded- we can let you know what you can and can't charge there. Please be mindful to not waste or overuse water or the solar power. We live a simple and lovely life with nature all around us.
