Self contained basement apartment in an old Georgian house within walking distance of Dublin's City Centre. Close to Croke Park and not far from the airport with plenty of local pubs shops and restaurants as well as an award winning Community garden.

The space

Built in 1848 this house is in a terrace of similar houses in an historic area within a 20min walking distance of our main thouroughfare O'Connell St and a short taxi ride from the airport and a two minute walk to Croke Park. Although close to the centre the house is in a quiet area. with our award winning community garden just behind the house. The basement is completely self contained along with it's own entrance. I have lived in Dublin all my life and am happy to assist with your itinerary.

Guest access

Your own private bathroom and kitchen and private entrance. There are many bars and restaurants in the area. I speak some French and German

Interaction with guests

I will interact with guests as much as you like- if you would like me to assist you in your travels I'd be very happy to or if you prefer privacy that's fine by me too.

Other things to note

I like to keep my prices low so that guests understand this in not a hotel- I live upstairs with my family and we do our best to keep noise at a minimum. Sheets and towels are provided clean but I don't iron them! I have tried but prefer to keep the price low than continually put myself through that!

Not much to do in that area, not as close to downtown as expected, not as clean or convient as described. Poor quality through out apt.

Fionnuala was very nice and friendly, the apartment would be ok for one person or a couple but wasn't great for three people so I felt a bit misled- no door between rooms so there was no privacy or separation really. Quite noisy in general and some things weren't so clean- very old gone off milk in the fridge and the smell of sewage in the bathroom. The internet was fast, its in a good location and the place has books and games which make it feel welcoming- It was nice but I think in general I've had better value elsewhere in Dublin.

Fionnuala's place was convenient and easy. We missed her since we were just there one night, but easily got the key. The apartment had a small kitchen with hotplate, kettle, and refrigerator. Location was convenient to the airport and to Dublin's city center but tucked away on a quiet side street.

The place was great! Very easy to walk to the attractions on the North side or the train station. We had a great time, everything was very easy.

Good location and communication but there were water pressure problems and the place wasn't clean.

Fionnuala's home is a great place to get situated, especially if you've just flown into (URL HIDDEN) was truly advantageous to be fairly close to the airport and to easily have the ability to park. Once settled, it's an enjoyable 15 minute walk into central Dublin. Fionnuala was very welcoming and helpful upon my arrival and I felt very comfortable staying here. The only difficulty I had at all was with a dog barking upstairs in the middle of the night...fortunately I was tired enough from my journey to easily fall back to sleep.

She was super friendly and communicated well. The place was lovely and had nice sized rooms. There was a good sized kitchen and a nice table area.
