Self contained basement apartment in an old Georgian house within walking distance of Dublin's City Centre. Close to Croke Park and not far from the airport with plenty of local pubs shops and restaurants as well as an award winning Community garden.
Built in 1848 this house is in a terrace of similar houses in an historic area within walking distance of our main thouroughfare O'Connell St and a short taxi ride from the airport and a two minute walk to Croke Park. Although close to the centre the house is in a quiet area. with our award winning community garden just behind the house. The basement is completely self contained along with it's own entrance. I am an artist and writer and would be happy to assist with your itinerary.
Your own private bathroom and kitchen and private entrance. There are many bars and restaurants in the area. I speak some French and German
Interaction with Guests
I will interact with guests as much as you like- if you would like me to assist you in your travels I'd be very happy to or if you prefer privacy that's fine by me too.
I love my neighbourhood- it has a good mix of people from all walks of life but the architecture dates back to the Georgian period. There is plenty of history around here but also some good pubs and restaurants. Being so close to the city means we have all the options. We are also in walking distance to the sea at Clontarf. We have a great community spirit with our garden and other events organised locally.
There is an excellent bus service at the top of our road with buses that go to the city, across the city or in the other direction to the seaside villages of Howth, Portmarnock and Malahide. We are a short taxi or bus ride from the airport and are a short walk to the main train and bus stations as well as the commuter train and tram stops.
No noisy parties- we live upstairs! Usual house rules apply, respect for noise which applies both ways. We have no issues with pets. If you smoke there is a yard outside where you can smoke.
Fionnuala was a wonderful host. She went out of her way to make sure that we landed well.
I was staying with my boyfriend at Fionnuala's place for one night and she was more than helpfull. She showed us how to get around the city and what to see, she brought us breakfast and made sure we are taken care off. Next time we are in Dublin we will be staying there for sure!
Great, short stay at this lovely place! Flat has it's own entrance downstairs, so it feels like a little secluded bungalow. Neighborhood-y area, with wonderful Irish charm.
Fionnuala was wonderful, and was so helpful in recommending places to eat, drink and see. We were only here for 1 night on a layover, but was comfortable and pleasant!
Wonderful. Private room, good ventilation, breakfast in the morning, and just a few minutes bus ride from the College Greens and the Temple Bar District.
Lovely homely one bed flat, as described and very comfortable. Very convenient and only a 15/20 min walk into town a great base to visit Dublin. Very welcoming host and very helpful with anything you need.
Fionnuala was so accommodating. We arrived a bit early and her son was nice enough to let us in early so we could drop off our things to start sightseeing during our short time in Dublin. The location was Great and walking distance to lots of things. The restaurants that were recommended nearby were amazing, definitely go to the Italian restaurant just down the street, da mimmos. The place was cozy and we were barely in it because we were out during the Day but it was just what we needed. Would definitely recommend staying here is you're in Dublin!
