Great location, right near Boggy Creek Park/E 7th Street! Your bedroom is in its own wing with its own bathroom and features a comfy queen futon with springs that make it feel like a firm mattress rather than a futon. For an extra fee ($25 per person), we can accommodate up to 4 people by putting a queen air mattress on the ground in this room, or in our office (if available). There's also a big fenced-in yard with fire pit, kitchen fully-stocked with appliances/utensils, dining area, private bathroom, laundry room with washer/dryer, wi-fi, Wii, Netflix, easy parking... and, most importantly, it's close enough to walk to events that are downtown!
We are conveniently located near East 6th Street (home to the Grackle, Liberty, Shangri-La and more) and epicenter of many more bars and outdoor stages during the SXSW), East 5th Street (Yellow Jacket Social Club, White Horse, the ND), East 8th Street (French Legation), East 11th Street (Longbranch, Trailor Space, Victory Grill, Kenny Dorham's Backyard), and East 12th Street (Club 1808, White Swan). We are also just several blocks from an HEB grocery store for all your grocery/beer shopping needs, and close to multiple food trailer parks and restaurants (Blue Dahlia, Franklin Barbecue, Casa Colombia, Takoba, Rio's Brazilian Cafe, Justine's, Hillside Farmacy, Eastside Showroom, Buenos Aires Cafe, Quickie Pickie, Eden East, La V, The Hightower and more!)
At the end of our block you'll find peaceful Rosewood/Boggy Creek Park-- a great place for walking pets, picnicking, or taking a dip in the nearby (free) public pool.
You'll enjoy your own room and bathroom, laundry, wifi, parking, and proximity to central and east Austin!
Interaction with Guests
My husband and I usually keep pretty busy, but we will help guests with as much info as they need (suggestions for restaurants, instructions for taking a bus, directions around town, etc.)
Also, our dog Chef is super friendly and adorable (yes, I'm biased but check out his photo and tell me you don't agree!) Our two cats are also adorable but will definitely hide from you for most of your stay anyway. :)
I love that our neighborhood is so central to everything, yet it's on a loop of a street nestled against a park, so it feels hidden away too. Our neighbors are all very friendly too!
Several bus stops are very close and cabs can be taken downtown for about $7.00. There is also a nearby light rail. For more detailed info on the public transporation, visit (website hidden)

Smoking is allowed outside only please! :)
Veronica was super welcoming and accommodating! Her dogs are just the best and it was pretty much the perfect place to stay for SXSW - close to the action, quiet, friendly, and fun. She was super flexible, communicative, provided great coffee, toiletries, and towels, and really made us feel at home. Would totally stay again and highly recommend it.
Though I only had the pleasure of staying one night in this bungalow, Veronica & Carson were such wonderful hosts! So communicative, and available, and their house was very comfortable for my stay. Wish I could've stayed longer! But will surely consider their home for a return visit.
Veronica was great to work with. We were able to schedule at the last minute with no issues. Location is a 30 minute walk from the action downtown for SXSW. Neighborhood was quiet, with on street parking readily available out front.
I would definitely go back again if I'm ever in Austin.
It's great to stay in an actual neighborhood in Austin, rather than the hotels downtown. You see a lot more of what makes the city so cool. If you have a car you have easy access to everything. If not, it's like a $4 cab ride to downtown, a fast bike ride to most of the city where tourists go, and their house is also within walking distance of a lot of the east side bars, grocers, restaurants, coffee shops and food trailers, and great breakfast tacos. There's a city bike pick-up not too far away, too. And, because your room is on the left side of the house away from the kitchen and the hosts' bedroom -- and you have a private bathroom -- you can really have as much privacy as you want, yet still get the chance to hang out with cool Austin residents or sit in their backyard or porch, if you like.
Veronica and Carson ' home was perfect for my visit. I had a great time playing with the dogs. Check in was easy and well- communicated. I would definitely stay in this cozy abode again.
Veronica was an awesome host and we all enjoyed our stay with her and Chef (the sweetest dog ever)! Our room was ready for us when we got there and she was great with communication the entire time.
I really enjoyed my stay with Veronica, she was so helpful, not only with tips for Austin but for all over Texas and I was even able to stay an extra night at short notice.
I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone travelling to Austin!
Chef is the cutest dog ever!
I am an event planner for a non-profit by day and freelance writer by night. I love traveling but I also never get bored in Austin because there is ALWAYS something fun to do here!: seeing live music (of course!), exploring swimming holes (when there's water!), hiking with my dogs, yoga (at one of our awesome donation-based studios!), relaxing at Barton Springs with a book, exploring the city by bike (it's a very bikeable place to live!), picnicking (it's possible year-round!), eating my way through all the delicious restaurants and food trucks, BYOB mini golf & rollerskating, karaoke, bowling, lots of driveable and delectably Texan daytrips, sporting events ranging from beer league softball to minor league baseball to college football....not to mention, there seems to be a festival of some sort of another almost every weekend here!
My husband and I also love entertaining and hosting dinner parties (he's an artist, musician, and cook)... maybe you'll be lucky enough to land in Austin for one?? :)
