Interaction with Guests
We love to give our Guests dozen of informations about local restaurants and tips about the city. What's worth a visit, where you shouldn't waste you time. Where you can get a nice meal and where's not. Where have a drink. Where get a drink. Stuff like that.
You can't more downtown than where we are. However, in the evenings the area is very quiet.
Saint Mark Square is far 5 minutes walking. Rialto Bridge a few steps further. You can reach out our favorite museums in less than 15 min.
Very very close to us you can find few banks & ATMs, a coin laundry, a bakery, a pharmacy, few cafés and a nice pastry shop.
You can go and get a ride to Lido and the beaches in 5 minutes and the ride is only 20 min long.
The water-bus stop to north lagoon (Murano, Burano and Torcello) is 10 min far from the house. The same stop is good for the direct water-bus to Venice Airport "Marco Polo".
Other Things to Note

Few and common sense.
- Respect the recycling
- No smoking apartment: it smells and you can not by law
- Turn off lights and appliances when you leave
- Leave the apartment in a presentable state
Great apartment, location and host! Salvatore is very nice and made everything possible to welcome us.
What can i say - we had a brilliant stay at Salvatore's apartment in the perfect part of Venice. Away from the crowds, but still very close to the main sites. We felt like locals. Both Salvatore and his business partner Fillippo spent a great amount of time with us when we arrived (even though we were only there for two nights) to tell us about the sites, the places to go, to eat (and where not to eat). This was very considerate of them both. It made a big difference to our stay. The apartment itself was great. Plenty of space, very clean, a lovely courtyard, and a strong Venetian feel. Plus it was incredibly safe! Would recommend this apartment to anyone!
We had a great stay at this apartment in Venice! Very close to all of the hotspots, many delicious restaurants, and unique stores! Apartment was exactly as described and Salvatore was extremely helpful with suggestions for things to do and places to eat around the area! Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay in this apartment. I went with my husband, daughter and friend. It was the perfect size. The apartment itself was clean, well taken care of and comfortable. The location is outstanding. It's quiet, yet so close to St. Mark's square and any sight you might want to see. I love the Castello neighborhood where it's located. I didn't get to meet Salvatore but his colleague Filippo, who was hysterical and helpful. They provided us with a great map, with site & restaurant recommendations. That was wonderful of them. I loved the places they advised. I would gladly stay there again. Another thing I'd like to mention is that he was very accommodating about us leaving our bags after check out time. That's a major bonus for me. With most Airbnb sites, you need to take your bags, even if you're not leaving town yet. We usually have to go to the train station and put our things in a locker. Due to their flexibility, we saved a lot of time and hassle and it was very appreciated. Grazie mille Salvatore e Filippo. Alla prossima.
This was an absolute great find! As soon as we arrived, Salvatore and his colleague showed a lot of concern to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible; and it was! The place is cozy and comfortable and we were a party of five. I highly recommend this place for your stay in Venice.
My friends and I just returned from staying 3 nights at Salvatore's apartment in the Castello District of Venice. The location was excellent for walking to either Rialto Bridge or Piazza San Marco, and yet, it was peaceful and quiet. There were many nice shops and restaurants close by. Salvatore took the time to mark locations on a map for us. The apartment was as pictured, even more spacious that I expected, with comfortable beds, and it was nice to have the outdoor courtyard.
Salvatore was very flexible about our meeting time, and gave us a warm welcome. He spent as much time as we needed answering our questions, and was also very prompt in stopping by himself (or his friend Filippo), if we needed anything.
There are a few suggestions about minor items that could make a good place even better, and especially for middle aged or senior travellers who don't want things to be too spartan or inconvenient. The apartment would benefit from a little decorating, maybe a woman's touch, adding artwork, and a few conveniences, such as handsoap, nicer towels, a longer shower curtain in main bathroom to prevent splashes, more keys, (identified as to which is which), recut to be easier to use, fixing of minor plumbing problems, replacing light bulbs, replacement of rusty drains. One larger obstacle is the low ceiling in the ensuite shower, making me, at 5 feet tall, the only person who used it. If the ceiling of the shower had been tiled instead of plaster, I think others could have tried it by using the hand held shower head and sitting down on the bench. Salvatore is a young, nice guy and maybe he should have trusted older friends or relatives stay for a couple of days to confirm these recommendations. We wish him well!
thank you for the review.
I'd like to reply to few of your points:
- we like the apartment as it is, without artwork of the walls; it makes it clean and essential, as we like it and as you can see from the photos; next time, before booking an apartment on Airbnb, give a better look to the photos.
- we won't provide nicer towels: when we used to do it, lots were missing.
- we usually provide 2 sets of keys; you asked for a third one and we gave to you; if you would asked for a 4th or a 5th, we could have giving to you. The identify the keys you need to look at the shape, as I said when I gave it to you: one is rounded, the other one is squarish.
- I don't really know what happened in that bathroom: the minor plumbing problems were not existent before your visit and the shower curtains go from the top to the floor and from side to side; next time, remind to close properly the sink and it won't drip and pull the shower curtains properly to avoid bathroom flooding. Please let me know which is the rusty drain and we'll be happy to replace it.
- we replaced the lamp bulbs the following day when the shop were open and you were still there.
Salvatore was a lovely host. His apartment is a fantastic place for families and groups of four. It's central, quiet and most importantly has the nicest courtyard which makes the place very spacious on top. We had our 7-months old daughter with us who, like us, loved to be outside. I would recommend Salvatore's place to everyone who plans a relaxed city trip to Venice - the apartment is ideal for breaks in between sightseeing tours.
thank you for your nice review.
We will provide a new cutting board and a new hairdryer: had no idea till now one was missing and the other one is a nightmare.
About the baby bed, if you would have asked me, we could have provided our travel cot, but you said the baby would have slept in bed with you.
Anyway, hope to see you next time!
