  • Great garage apartment in central area of Austin, but still private in a beautiful neighborhood. Parking spot was a plus, but walking was easy. Robert was a super host. The apartment was immaculate.

  • Robert was more than accommodating, on time to meet up, and provided a clean and accommodating stay.

    October 2012
  • Excellent. Robert's flat was the ideal solution for my trip since all hotels were either sold out or charging around $370/night (truly!). Super clean. It was very affordable too. To understand how it suited me well, a bit about myself: I was coming into town for a convention located at the downtown convention center, I have a quirky vegan diet, and an intense passion for anything physical (weight lifting, swimming, running, biking, hiking, yoga, boot camp, you name it!). While it was not walking distance to the convention center, it was only a quick $7-8 taxi ride, but I didn't care because more importantly I could walk to Whole Foods, vegan restaurants, Starbucks, REI, or 2 gyms in 3 minutes! Next, Robert. Before arrival I had various questions in which he reacted as a stellar concierge. Excellent communication. Upon meeting, I liked him instantly. A down-to-earth and humble guy. Since he too is vegan we did dinner one evening, he got me a pass into Mecca Gym, and even invited me to a nearby yoga class the last day I was in town. No hotel could offer these personal touches that truly spiced up what was to be a mundane and boring business trip. In fact, I was so appreciative that I even let Robert know that when/if he passes through my town, my wife and I would be delighted to host his stay and return the excellent hospitality.

  • Robert´s place was amazing! Myself and three friend stayed there and there was more than enough room and in the greatest area. The biggest Wholefoods is down the rown and you´re just a short walk away from awesome coffee, bars and food. Robert is also an amazing host, and gave us plenty of things to do and places to see while in Austin. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Decent place and very good located, close to downtown, good restaurants and Whole Foods just 3 blocks away. Robert, the owner is kind guy too. Recommended for a short stay. Suitable for two people sharing a bed, the sofa bed is not that big.

  • Roberts place is super comfortable and so close to everything you need - the amazing Whole Foods is just down the street as is Waterloo records and a 24hr diner. Also a great Tex-mex restaurant within stumbling distance. There is a double bed which is super comfortable, a large couch in the same room which is also vey comfortable and then a small fold out couch - which isnt so comfy. I think this place is perfect for a couple + one more at a stretch - the pace is small, so couples won't have any privacy. I was with good friends at first and it was fine, then liked the place so much I extended my stay. Robert was totally cool - accommodated our super late check in and responded to calls or emails in a flash. Highly recommended.

  • This place truly is 'right in the middle of it all!' - fabulous location!! Bakery, liquor store, record store, whole foods, mexican restaurant, 24-hour diner and more all within walking distance! We would walk down 5th street to Congress st daily, this place was suuuper convenient.
The apartment itself is kind of studio-style, with the main bed in the open-plan living/kitchen area. There is no closing door between this area and the area with the sofa-bed, but this was not a problem for the three of us who stayed.

Rob was a very friendly host who kept in contact by email & text message before we arrived and met us to show us the apartment and offered his availability should we need any advice. He does not live in the apartment while you stay so you have it all to yourself. My friend even wanted to extend her stay after my partner and I left, and this was not a problem.

There were heaps of towels in the bathroom and he even bought us a bag of coffee :)

If I haven't convinced you yet, I'm just going to leave this here: FOOZBALL!

About
Hey Everyone! My name is Rob and I live and grew up in the Austin area. Travel is huge in my world so naturally AirBnB became an instant fit with me. I also love meeting new people and creating new experiences along the way. Some of my favorite things I love sharing with new people about Austin is the food, nightlife and culture, and just how eclectic and awesome they can be. So far my favorite place I have traveled has been Marfa Texas about eight hours from Austin and right in the middle of no where.
