Interaction with Guests
I live & work a 10 minute walk from my studio so I am happy to help with any queries you might have. Please keep in contact with me about check in times or if you are going to be late.
My studio is on Arran Quay in Dublin 7. The area is also known as Smithfield.
Minutes walk from the Old Jameson Distillery, Jo'burger, Smithfield Square, the Lighthouse Cinema, Fresh supermarket, the Generator Hostel, Oscar's Bar and Restaurant, Third Space cafe, pizzeria Bel Cibo.
Stoneybatter & Smithfield are very close and host an array of great pubs including gastro pub Mulligans - worth a visit.
The Cobblestone (picture on this site) is also close by and hosts great music sessions. The Brazen Head pub is a 2 minute walk across the river.
Alternatively the city centre is 15 minutes walk the opposite direction. Temple Bar only 10 minutes away.
Phoenix Park is 15 mins walk.
There are also several Dublin Bikes stands right beside the complex.
It is also 3 stops on the Luas (tram) line to St James' Hospital and easy walking distance to the Mater and the Rotunda for any medical professionals seeking short term accommodation in Dublin.
Bus stop on Arran Quay - 30 second walk. The open top bus tour of Dublin also stops here.
Red Luas line - stop is the Four Courts or Smithfield - one minute walk.
Dublin Bikes available from Smithfield Square.
Walking distance to Heuston Station or short tram journey to Connelly Station.
Parking is expensive but can be booked online for ten euro per 24 hours if booked in advance via Q PARK Four Courts carpark. On street parking is 2.70euro per hour and free between 7pm-7am. Spaces are not guaranteed and can be busy during the day. Really only suitable if paying a flying visit! Smithfield Carpark (very close) - run by Park Rite - is also cheap at the weekends. Worth looking up if you have a car.
Getting from the airport:
Taxi will start from 20 euro depending on traffic.
Airport bus 747 (6 euro) to Bus Aras, bus station, and from here take the red line Luas (tram) to Smithfield
OR take local bus 41 to Abbey street for 2 euro, then take the same Luas from Abbey Street stop to Smithfield stop.
I usually find it easiest to meet guests at the Smithfield Tram Stop.
Other Things to Note
This is a small and cosy studio, I am new to Air B&B so hope to have some guests and maybe some tips & feedback to make it a more comfortable and user friendly space.
Unfortunately I do not have a washing machine for longer stays however there is an excellent launderette called Mr Tubs on Arran Quay (less than 5 mins walk away and picture on this site) where there is a self service wash or you can leave your clothes for them to wash.
No smoking inside please please please. I do not want to have to request a deposit due to smokers!
Please notify me of check in time 24 hours in advance of arrival. Late check in after 10pm can incur at €20 convenience fee.
Small dogs welcome
Please empty bins and wash dishes before you leave if possible - this helps me accommodate guests with flexible check in and check out times!
Di welcomed us in front of the gate. She showed us the appartment, explained everything and tipped us about where to shop or eat. She was really nice and available !
We had a great time in Dublin and we'll come back !
Di was very helpful even months before the trip, letting us know what to prepare for and how to get around, plus being extra kind regarding a special requirement for our group during the holidays. The flat is small but very cozy, and is ideal for one or two couples. The location is great, with the Jameson distillery and Dublin's oldest pub mere minutes away, and Phoenix Park and the City Center about 10-15 minutes walk. Would definitely recommend, and will return when traveling to Dublin again! :)
Really enjoyed our night at the studio! Di was a great host: friendly and very accommodating. The place itself is in a fab location, right next to the luas and a short walk to some neat little watering holes. It was comfortable and clean, and I'd definitely stay again. Thanks Di!
We lived In Di's cute little studio for a month while doing a placement at one of the hospitals in the city. Di was a wonderful host, she was always immediate in her response to any inquiries we had, was very flexible surrounding checkin and checkout times and did her very best to make us feel welcome throughout our stay. She provided spare towels half way through and a voucher to a gorgeous little restaurant nearby. The apartment is clean, small but cosy and was easily large enough even with the sofa bed folded out for two girls to happily move around in. The kitchenette is well enough stocked that a cup of tea, breakfast and a number of lunches and simple dinners were easy to accomplish. The location was ideal, in between two LUAS (the tram line) stops, right on the beautiful Liffey river and an easy walk to just about everything of interest; temple bar, city centre, pheonix park, jervis shopping complex. Its also surrounded by a bunch of really trendy cafes and bars while avoiding the touristy feel of the temple bar area on the south bank. Di was also really helpful on this front, giving lots of great suggestions of places to go around Dublin when asked. We had two keys to the apartment, but only one key fob which is needed to enter and exit the gates of the apartment complex. While this took a little organisation when going out independently, we never had any problems getting in or out as the gates are open during business hours, you can buzz people in from the apartment and there is a lot of foot traffic, even in the evenings.
This was an excellent stay and one I would be ready to repeat in an instant. I would thoroughly recommend.
