My studio is freshly painted and awaits your arrival. It's clean and basic but will provide for all your needs on a visit to Dublin if you are looking for some great value accommodation. There is also a fridge, a sink, a kettle and a toaster. 4 bowls, 4 side plates, 4 plates, chopping board, some cutlery, 4 glasses & 6 cups... Gradually adding more.... Bath towels & hand towel and a hairdryer also provided. I have also added an adaptor plug to convert Europe/USA/Australian plugs to UK/Irish plugs. Hope these additions help!
You will have sole use of the studio. It has it's own front door and is on the ground floor.
Please let me know your check in time 24 hours in advance of arrival. If you will be checking in after 10pm please send me an enquiry before you send a booking request. Sometimes I need to charge a €20 convenience fee for late check in service however not always so just check with me.
Interaction with Guests
I live & work a 10 minute walk from my studio so I am happy to help with any queries you might have. Please keep in contact with me about check in times or if you are going to be late.
My studio is on Arran Quay in Dublin 7. The area is also known as Smithfield.
Minutes walk from the Old Jameson Distillery, Jo'burger, Smithfield Square, the Lighthouse Cinema, Fresh supermarket, the Generator Hostel, Oscar's Bar and Restaurant, Third Space cafe, pizzeria Bel Cibo.
Stoneybatter & Smithfield are very close and host an array of great pubs including gastro pub Mulligans - worth a visit.
The Cobblestone (picture on this site) is also close by and hosts great music sessions. The Brazen Head pub is a 2 minute walk across the river.
Alternatively the city centre is 15 minutes walk the opposite direction. Temple Bar only 10 minutes away.
Phoenix Park is 15 mins walk.
There are also several Dublin Bikes stands right beside the complex.
It is also 3 stops on the Luas (tram) line to St James' Hospital and easy walking distance to the Mater and the Rotunda for any medical professionals seeking short term accommodation in Dublin.
Bus stop on Arran Quay - 30 second walk. The open top bus tour of Dublin also stops here.
Red Luas line - stop is the Four Courts or Smithfield - one minute walk.
Dublin Bikes available from Smithfield Square.
Walking distance to Heuston Station or short tram journey to Connelly Station.
Parking is expensive but can be booked online for ten euro per 24 hours if booked in advance via Q PARK Four Courts carpark. On street parking is 2.70euro per hour and free between 7pm-7am. Spaces are not guaranteed and can be busy during the day. Really only suitable if paying a flying visit! Smithfield Carpark (very close) - run by Park Rite - is also cheap at the weekends. Worth looking up if you have a car.
Getting from the airport:
Taxi will start from 20 euro depending on traffic.
Airport bus 747 (6 euro) to Bus Aras, bus station, and from here take the red line Luas (tram) to Smithfield
OR take local bus 41 to Abbey street for 2 euro, then take the same Luas from Abbey Street stop to Smithfield stop.
I usually find it easiest to meet guests at the Smithfield Tram Stop.
Other Things to Note
This is a small and cosy studio, I am new to Air B&B so hope to have some guests and maybe some tips & feedback to make it a more comfortable and user friendly space.
Unfortunately I do not have a washing machine for longer stays however there is an excellent launderette called Mr Tubs on Arran Quay (less than 5 mins walk away and picture on this site) where there is a self service wash or you can leave your clothes for them to wash.
No smoking inside please please please. I do not want to have to request a deposit due to smokers!
Please notify me of check in time 24 hours in advance of arrival. Late check in after 10pm can incur at €20 convenience fee.
Small dogs welcome
Please empty bins and wash dishes before you leave if possible - this helps me accommodate guests with flexible check in and check out times!
A recommander !!
Communication with Di was easy and she was always available. The studio is very basic but perfect if that's what you need; a place to rest your head. I love that's it's not in the noise of Temple Bar area yet close enough to easily walk there.
*A note to travelers: take the Airlink 747 bus to the Usher's Quay stop, it's the closest stop to the studio. At the airport you can buy a ticket from a booth or a machine. One way is 6€ or round trip is 10€. To get back to the airport, the stop is 1 block from the studio, on Arran Quay & Smithfield in front of Ocean House (Google it). It took us forever to find the stop so I'm passing the info onto you.
Di was very nice and even left us a Quick breakfast because we have to leave early in the morning.
The flat is very cute and well spotted! I would recommand it for sure !
We had a wonderful time at Di's studio. It is small… As studios go… But we made it do for the four of us - 2 adults and 2 children. The Arran Square complex is simple but calm. With a nice square courtyard. The bed is now a Walled bed but it is good too. There is just a little less place for meals. The great thing about the studio is its location. Perfect. Right by a great pub - The Cobblestone. Right by the old distillery. With a beautiful Fresh market at the corner of the street. It was lovely. We would definitely recommend the studio for two people. Just a little bit small for four.
