What a charming find in Le Marais! First, I'd stay here again...or perhaps Vu's other location that is good for two. The place was clean, quaint, comfortable and accessible to all kinds of transit and restaurants and shops. The amenities were plentiful from great working wifi, extra pillows to international electric adaptors, hair dryer etc. she even left soap for shower which was nice. The bed was comfortable and our third person said the couch bed was also fine to sleep on for a few nights. The large windows provide a nice breeze into the apartment, but if you are sensitive to noise please note that sometimes at night there is a line for falafel downstairs (this didn't bother us at all). However early in the morning there is a bit of noise in the streets (maybe garbage pickup or deliveries for restaurants) we were so tired from our site seeing that it didn't bother us too much but if you are sensitive to this you may want to take note. Also, there are lots of stairs. Anyone with difficulty using stairs take note. If not, go--stay at Vu's--the history is fantastic and her place is super. Vu was so kind to leave us a bottle of wine to enjoy while we relaxed at the apartment. Such a nice touch. We enjoyed our wine while sharing an amazing falafel from downstairs (the best in Paris). Although Vu wasn't around to meet us personally, her communication was amazing and we accessed the apartment with ease! This was a huge appalause to Vu---I don't have international phone plan and was relying on wifi to receive messages. Vu was so quickly responsive that I didn't have to be concerned. She gave us wonderful recommendations for places to go and dine. We are still dreaming of the croissants at 32 Rue de temple. Wow. Thanks Vu!

Vu and Kim's place is brilliant - right in the heart of one of the funky Marais streets, close to great shops, restaurants. Vu provided great tips for local restaurants, markets etc throughout our stay, and the bottle of wine was a nice touch. We initially had a problem with the wifi but Vu had someone around in 15 mins to sort it - very, very helpful.

Fantastic location (though can be lively at night so if you are looking for early bed times might not be the right neighborhood). Perfect location for walking and exploring Paris. Cafes all around, shopping, and short walks to many interesting sights. Hosts are great and were flexible with our needs and extremely responsive. Would stay here again!

We loved our two-week honeymoon here! For our needs and likes, the neighborhood was ideal. Notes: (1) The Marais is not meant to be a clinically clean neighborhood. If you don't like dirt, try a different arrondissement. (2) Lots of great restaurants, patisseries, and architecture here. Just start walking, a new direction each day. Amazing the wonders you can experience and film. (3) L'As Du Falafel is right below you. As the waiting line indicates, it's the best on this street. We loved both the falafel and the curry chicken. Mi-Va-Mi just isn't as good. (4) Be careful on the ladder going up to the loft. It's especially scary when you are exhausted after walking 5+ hours across the city or in the morning when you are still asleep. (5) There are almost always people in front of the building who are lined up for falafel. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this might not be right for you. Having said that, the double-pane windows do an excellent job of keeping things quiet. We liked the noise, but sometimes, the music and screaming babies were too much and it was nice to be able to shut it all out, if we wanted to. (6) The isolated toilet room has no fan or vent. Buy a room spray or box of matches to alleviate. (7) You are a 15-minute walk from: Notre Dame, Ste-Chappelle, Pompidou, Les Halles, L'Ile de la Cite, and so much more. (8) Carry a small pocket flashlight with you. Navigating the 1750 stairs in the dark in this building can be tricky. (9) The Wi-Fi is not fast. However, you are in Paris, so worrying about browsing speeds should be far down your list of concerns. (10) You can buy a cheap umbrella to use when you are taking your millionth walk and get caught in a downpour. Just leave it behind for the next lucky visitors. (11) Your hosts are excellent communicators. Have a question? Just ask. (12) We recommend that you wake up very early at least one day and walk around Paris before the city wakes up. It is an amazing experience. (13) Have a great time!

Great place - just like the photo. Close to lots of great bars and lunch places - 1-5 minute walk. You must try one of the falafel places down the street - delicious! Apartment is quiet at night but if you open up the windows you can peer down the street and watch all the hustle and bustle. Would stay again!
