Interaction with guests
My husband, Don, and I enjoy a short visit with our guests after showing them around and making sure they are comfortable. In the morning, we often have a friendly visit over breakfast if our guests have the time to chat a bit. We are home most of the time so are available for information or help.
Other things to note
You are invited to eat breakfast with us between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning (homemade waffles, pancakes, French toast or eggs and toast along with fruit and coffee.) If you want to eat earlier or later, let us know the night before so we can have bagels, yogurt, cereal, granola, toast and/or fruit available when you want it.
We have basic TV available in the sitting area outside your room or you can watch programs on your wireless device in your room.
Our 3 backyard hens lay fresh eggs for us and provide a lot of entertainment. They are usually quiet unless they are announcing an egg has just been laid!
We welcome travel nurses and other professionals (up to 3 months). Weekly and monthly discounts will be applied.
We can accommodate small children on a cot or foam pads on the floor in their parent's room. Children must be under their parent's supervision at all times.
No smoking anywhere on the property. Moderate alcohol use is OK, but no drunk or rowdy behavior is allowed. No illegal drugs. No pets. Quiet time begins at 10 pm to avoid disturbing hosts and other guests. Guests may use the kitchen to cook or eat. Kitchen responsibilities include leaving the kitchen clean, being careful with heavy pans, and not placing hot dishes on the table without hot pads under them.

My husband, Don and I, are parents of 4 grown kids and have 9 grandchildren. We enjoy our family and enjoy hosting guests in our home. We are involved in volunteer work in our community and church that keeps us active! We have enjoyed many trips abroad over the years, so enjoy hosting international guests and hearing their stories of travel and adventure. Our newest adventure is having backyard chickens. What characters these little animals are! And they lay delicious eggs for us.
