Location

Inveresk, Scotland, United Kingdom

Inveresk is a Scottish village, full of history and charm, located to the south of Musselburgh. It has been designated a conservation area since 1969. The location was used by the Romans to build a fort in the 2nd century AD. During the 17th and 18th centuries, at the peak of its economic splendor, Inveresk witnessed on its Fine Street, the construction of houses and mansions, each with its own particular style but all with beautiful gardens.
Inveresk Lodge Garden belongs to the National Trust for Scotland, and its west facing gardens overlooking the river Esk are open to the public .
The village is dominated by St. Michael's church that stands at its west end on the summit of the local hill overlooking Musselburgh.
Inveresk is a very quiet place where you can enjoy the sounds of nature. The nearby river Esk offers trails and bicycle paths.
This unique combination of architecture, history and nature is the perfect recipe to create and treasure unforgettable memories.

My favorite destination is Planet Earth and its people! I've traveled all over Europe, Africa, the Middle East, India, South East Asia, North America and the Caribbean, learning and sharing history, music, culture, traditions, personal experiences which made me a thankful witness to the greatness of diversity. I like the sparkling atmosphere of cosmopolitan cities and the peacefulness of small towns. I enjoy nature in its pristine beauty. My books are my most valuable treasure. Classical music and jazz light my day. I love photography, cinema and the simple ingredients and the full body aroma of home made Mediterranean cuisine.
