Stay in an 1800 Sq ft, 3-2 home in NW Austin with a yard and lots of shade trees. In a quiet, established neighborhood on cul-de-sac, it is just a few blocks from a park with jogging trail. The private room is 10 by 10 with a shared, separate bathroom. You will have access to the kitchen, high speed internet wireless, a 48 inch LED TV, washer and dryer, dishwasher, a fireplace, and a gas or charcoal grill. No smoking, drugs, kids or pets.
You can hear the sounds of the birds at my place but elsewhere you can find out why Austin is called The Live Music Capital of the World. With more than 1,900 bands and performing artists living in and around our city, business and leisure travel take on a musical flair. From blues to indie rock, country to jazz, rock en español and more, Austin’s nearly 200 live music venues draw locals and travelers alike. From Sixth Street to the Red River and Warehouse Districts, the East Side to South Lamar, you won’t be disappointed. Also, within a few miles of my place are some great hikes, golf courses, quarry for fishing, wildflowers in the spring along Capital of Texas Highway which is a great scenic drive or bike, shopping at Lakeline mall, Domain or Arboretum and more.
Capitol Metro bus system has a Park and Ride bus stop (Pavilion) nearby. It is a nice 1 mile walk from the house.
My roomate and I enjoy keeping the house clean so it is pest free and hope you enjoy doing this as well. We pretty much keep to our quiet time/sleeping hours of 10pm to 7am. Your welcome to use the kitchen facilities, TV and washer/dryer. The express Capitol metrobus is one bus into downtown Austin on weekdays. It is 2 buses on the weekends. If I am available, I can gladly help with logistics. No smoking indoors, drugs, pets or small children please.
Carolyn's place was awesome, and she's even awesomer. Super cool host will make you feel completely at home. Very accommodating. Thanks for everything!
Very welcoming. Ended up having to add additional days to my trip and was very responsive to my request. Nice quiet neighborhood and beautiful backyard.
Host was very welcoming. Very nice lady who opened the whole house to me and was fast to respond to my request. Nothing but good things to say about the experience.
Carolyn is very nice and she was very helpful. The house is located in a very nice neighborhood. It was easy to get there from the airport. I enjoyed seeing the fawn families walking on the streets.
I had a great one night stay at Carolyn's place. I arrived late and left early, so I never got to meet her, but she arranged a very smooth check in process, and the room was very comfortable and quiet. I got one fun bonus as I left in the early morning. A group of five deer were grazing their way up the hill toward me, working the lawns on both sides of the street. I had one of those "driveway moments" as I watched the family eat breakfast!
Carolyn was very very nice. THe house was hyper clean. I arrived really late and she made sure that via email, voicemail and text I'd have all the information I needed.
Carolyn has the most gorgeous backyard! I would just charge my laptop in the room and went there to work on my dissertation.:) You feel very at home. I know where I will stay next time...
I have been living and working as a nurse in the Neonatal ICU at Austin, TX since 1986. I enjoy just getting outdoors but I especially love canoeing, scuba diving and hiking. Traveling is awesome and a great way to see new things. Hotels can be kind of drab so if you like staying with a local, I can help you get to know Austin and see as much as you possibly can during your stay. I can get books from the library, share my maps and knowledge as my schedule allows. Just let me know what your interests are!
