This cool, old house is located in the heart of the historic Fort Russell district. Within 3 blocks are the 1912 Building, 2 schools, East City Park, county & city offices, library, post office, farmers market, & downtown Moscow. The U of I is just beyond, & WSU is a 15 min. drive. The self-contained LOWER level of the house consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, laundry/mudroom, & an open living space spanning the kitchen, dining, & living room. A large fenced yard make it kid & pet friendly too.

The space
The high ceilings and original red fir floor and trim retain the period feel while the eclectic mix of furnishings make the space both pleasing to look at and comfortable to use. Feel free to enjoy the entertainment provided (DVDs, books, games, Roku, WiFi, but no cable TV, sorry.) by the warm and cozy stove. Despite the proximity to all the action of downtown Moscow, the neighborhood is relatively quiet, as is the house. The upstairs tenant is very quiet, however you may hear a few footfalls every now and then. You forget there is an upstairs until someone ascends the stairs. There are a few steps to get to the front and back doors so keep that in mind.

I came to the US on a student work abroad program many years ago and fell in love... with the people, the mountains, and the outdoor seasonal lifestyle. I have been lucky enough to spend my winters on the slopes and my summers on the river for many years before my son was born, which prompted my second career as a Montessori teacher. A few unexpected moves later and I find myself in my latest role as an Airbnb host! I have done my best to make my home as clean and comfy as possible while still being a functional living space for people and pets. As an Aussie, I value honest direct open communication, so if you’re looking for a magazine home keep looking, but if you like comfort, character and charm my place may be just the ticket!
