Other Things to Note
Michael, Ann Marie's husband, is very interested in local culture and history, his favourite thing being Genaelogy so if you have any connection with the area he will be able to help you!
We are happy to have you SMOKE ON THE PATIO OUTSIDE where you can also enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea!
it is very important to us that the Shower door and bedroom window are opened for a short period after showering so as not to encourage mildew!
Thank You so so much!
Ann Marie and Michael are a charming and welcoming couple who will make you feel right at home - their house is a beautiful space in the middle of a little bit of heaven! Kilcar is a sleepy quiet village (with 3 pubs if you want a guinness) near so many sites of natural beauty, Highly recommended! We'll be back!
Thank you very much, Ann-Marie & Michael for being hospitable! Your place is very comfortable, especially as we were so lucky with the weather... but even in rain it would have been nice, the kitchen range is perfect, the room is fine and the location fantastic.
The best of luck to you,
This is a really charming place to stay, beautifully appointed in fact idyllic. The kitchen facility is fabulous as there are few places to eat in Kilcar itself. There is a fabulous butcher in neighbouring Carrick! This is a stunning area of the country and Annies Secret Garden has a charm of its own. Great host! Thanks for a lovely stay in a part of the country I want to go back to now I have been there once!
Brendan and Rose.
Ann Marie & Michael have a fantastic space & welcome you with warm, friendly hospitality. We had a great stay (one night) & Michael recommend a great place for dinner. Many thanks.
Ann Marie was such a nice and helpful host. She was very welcoming and her husband Michael too. They offered us a delicious cup of tea and a piece of cake and we had a nice conversation as well. Ann Marie showed us our twin room which was bright and pleasant.
We could use the kitchen and make ourselves comfortable there. Kilcar provides a great base for exploring many beautiful places in Donegal. We had a short stay at Ann Marie’s house but we definitely recommend this place!
This was one of the most lovely AirBnb places I've stayed. I was traveling with my mother and older brother and we just LOVED the decor, the bright rooms. I was an absolute treasure and we look forward to visiting Kilcar again. Ann Marie & her husband Michael were absolutley generous and welcoming.

About the Host, Ann Marie
We are an active couple who enjoy walking and cycling in our beautiful countryside especially choosing the routes where we are directly looking onto the sea. In Winter or Summer it is spectacular!
We love to cook and try different dishes and work in the garden. Ceili dancing is one of our favourite ways to exercise and lately we have been learning the old Sean Nos dancing which is enjoying a bit of a revival. We love going to our National Games of Football and Hurling and then that evening watching all the highlights on TV and discussing them. Michael was priveledged to play for the County of Donegal for 13 years and still maintains his fitness by cycling , gym work, and walking our friends two dogs Guizmo and Molly three times a week.
We have a great interest in our national gaelic language of which Michael is a native speaker.
Ann enjoys painting gardening playing Badminton, knitting, and decorating the home. Of course we love to travel when we can with France being one of our favourite Countries in Europe ... the USA being next but now that we have discovered Air BnB we will be making it to lots more destinations in future ... God willing!
