The Old Corner Shop is the perfect place to explore Whitstable. This dog friendly, seaside retreat is centrally located, providing easy access to all amenities. A wide variety of boutique shops and restaurants are on your door step and it is only a five-minute stroll to the sea.

Situated in a quiet street, this house is full of character and charm. Relax, laugh, sleep, eat. You will love it here.

The space
We love this converted corner shop. Its large, relaxing living space has lots of light and plenty of character. Tucked away in a quiet street, listen out for the distant sound of the pealing bells of St Alphege Church at a civilised time on Sunday morning. Sit in the sunlit garden or hang out in total privacy in the spacious living room with your family and friends.

Well behaved four-legged friends are also welcome.

The Old Corner Shop is a non-smoking environment.

Guests have access to a private entrance and off-street parking for one large car.

Whether you are looking for a 'home from home' or a complete 'escape' we think the Old Corner Shop is exactly what you are looking for.

Location

Kent, England, United Kingdom

Helen’s home is located in Whitstable, England, United Kingdom.
It is hard to put into words why Whitstable is unique. One of the best ways I can describe it is by the way that I feel when I leave. We can travel down from London on a Saturday afternoon, stay less than twenty four hours and go home feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. It is as if time stands still for a while-one day stretches out like three or four.

We love the gentle pace of life, we love the creative vibe and local community feel. Watch out for the yarn bombers! The shops and restaurants are all one of a kind and the food is second to none.

We are drawn to the water at the coast. Often still as a mill pond, you can sit and look out for hours with the sun on your face and a gentle breeze in your hair. Whitstable is home from home for us -but without all the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Whitstable makes us happy.

I am a teacher and a mum of two happy teenagers. My favourite place by the sea is Whitstable, followed closely by Widemouth Bay in Cornwall. If I could revisit any European country it would be Kefalonia and I would repeat our day trip on Captain Mackie's boat. My favourite trip outside Europe was accompanying 12 young adults to Kenya for a month of exploration and discovery. As an Airbnb host I hope that you will find our home as cosy and comfortable as we do -that you will feel at home and be able to relax completely and have lots of chilled days in Whitstable -a very special place to us. Don't hesitate to pick up the phone and call me if you need any advice or tips during your stay.
