Fantastic stay in Claire's flat: a fabulous flat, with loads of character, jaw dropping views, and also importantly, loads of info and help from Claire - a whole book of info in the flat, making us feel really welcome and looked after. Can't say enough in Claire's favour: we have stayed in various AirBnB places, and have to give Claire top ranking. Brilliant stay in a brilliant flat; and we know the area quite well as we've done a few of the street art tours: well worth doing, and it was fab to show what we knew to my daughter, who didn't know the area as well. Fabulous stay. Thanks, Claire: would recommend with bells on! :)
Location was great and communication with Claire after booking was great. Very quirky apartment and a good view of the city. Quiet neighbourhood and easy access to Hoxton Station and a great little cafe called Barrel Boulangerie for breakfast.
Unfortunately we brought our car and got a very expensive parking ticket which put a dampener on our visit. Claire kindly left us a permit, but the instructions of where to park were really confusing.
The apartment was perfect for what we needed. The location is fabulous - on a great tube line and close to lots of great bars, shops and restaurants. Claire's welcome pack was full of good advice and made our stay very easy. Would definitely stay again next time I'm in London.
Claire wasn't available to meet us at the flat, but arranged for us to pick up the keys at the local corner shop. This was very straight forward and we found and got into the flat no problem.
It was clean and tidy, with fresh sheets and towels for everyone (there were 6 of us staying) and stylishly decorated. My bed, in the smaller of the two bedrooms, was very comfortable, and there were no complaints from my friends in the other bedroom and on the sofa.
The flat is conveniently located about a ten minute walk from Old Street tube station and all the cafes and bars in that area (we had the eggs Benedict at the Pitfield Cafe), and there are at least three corner shops nearby, including one open 24 hours.
The views from the balcony are amazing, with all the modern London landmarks visible: Canary Wharf, The Shard, The Gherkin, The Cheese Grater and the London Eye.
Aida the terrapin is lovely to watch and an interesting little extra most other flats don't have.
I have only two very minor complaints:
1) On the Saturday night there was a party in the block opposite that went on most of the night; that sort of thing could be an issue for anybody who finds it hard to get to sleep.
2) The windows are covered with Venetian blinds which let in quite a lot of light in the morning, meaning that in the summer you can get woken up early.
All together a great place to stay; I would definitely stay again on my next London trip.
We felt very welcome staying in Claire's apartment, the directions given were clear and easy to follow. We were able to gain early access to the apartment as we arrived before the 3pm check in time. The apartment was very clean and plenty off towels and extra bed linen if required. It is in a very good location close to the city center of London with plenty of bus routes and the local train station Hoxton only a short walk. There is plenty of cafes, bar's and local shops near by, easy to shop for supplies. We found the surrounding area to be clean and quiet, we felt quite safe walking around, it's an interesting area with lots of street art in the main Shoreditch area and the local people were friendly. The apartment is bright and airy with spectacular views from every window into the City's financial district, breathtaking. It was perfect for our visit to London there is nothing negative to say, and looking after Aida the terrapin was an added bonus.
Great flat in a really handy location - excellent communication from Claire and no probs at all with anything!! Thanks very much...

About the Host, Claire
I was born in London and have lived in Shoreditch for 13 years.
My flats are full of original pieces of art and furniture by many artists and it's all for sale!
I exhibit frequently in both London and New York and I have art studios in Hoxton and Williamsburg.
I love London and I hope to show off the best of it!
I'm very happy to recommend local galleries, bars, cafes or clubs. It might also be possible to use my art studio, which is 3 minute walk from the flat.
I'm also a keen distance runner, so let me know if you want any advice on running routes. It's possible to run for 20 or 30 miles through parks, along canals, marshes and woodland - only being on a road for a couple of minutes from the flat!
I speak French, some Spanish and a little Japanese.
