This is a sunlit room, just off the entrance hall. So its almost like your own place. It opens out into the living room, On ground floor level.
It has a giant gold mirror& its own small chandelier. Complete with study area &Dublin/ Ireland guides.
Hi, I have a lovely downstairs bedroom to rent, very centrally located about a 15 minute walk (or less) from Stephen's Green. 5 minutes walk fom the green luas line, and 3 minutes to buses. The 16 bus goes from the airport to a few minutes walk of the house. its by the leafy Portobello end of the canal, with swans and sunshine. Close to the Iveagh gardens, a small gem of a park, with fountains and a waterfall.(even some Dubliners don't know about this one!) Close to the National concert hall, and Dublins lively Camden street. You can smell the hops from the Guinness Brewery on some days. Portobello was the old Jewish quater of Dublin, with the only kosher bakery in Ireland at the end of the street, the Bretzel, and the Jewish Museum just around the corner. George bernard Shaws house is a 2 minute walk from here. lots to see and do.
The room is suitable for couples or singles. I live here with my lovely cat, and am pretty easy going. There is a shared living room, Brand new bathroom and kitchen. Sunny Patio complete with Hammock.Students and travellers from all over are welcome!
Dublin is a city that everyone raves about. Displaced locals get all misty-eyed about the pubs, the craic, the hilarious, friendly people they left behind.
So make a detour down that side street, spend a few hours trailing through the parks and gardens, take your time in the museums, talk to people in the pubs, watch a hurling match, ride the DART out of town to Howth, Dalkey and Malahide, catch a play, or just sit on the Liffey boardwalk and let it all pass you by.
Whatever you decide to do, you can rest assured that at least one of the clichés about this city really is true: Dublin genuinely does have something for everyone.

Interaction with Guests
I love to interact with guests, as much as they want to. I have a good sense of people and know if people want to be left alone too.
I love the swans at the end of my Street, my neighbours, The bretzel bakery that sells wheat free bread and cakes, as well as the normal kind.
I love heaing the whir and tinkle of the luas in the far off distance... I love how quiet my Street is...but so close to everything!
Local bus stops within minutes of my house, Dublín bikes ( a rental system) at the end of my Street, Luas tram sytem withina few minutes walk of the house. To be honest you can really walk most places from Portobello.

I came to Dublin to start a new life (including job hunting, finding a place to live, etc etc) and booked Mim's room for one month. Mim was THE perfect host! As you can imagine I had quite a lot of pressure and Mim was always there to support me and reassure me! She would ask me about my interviews and help me to find the right direction. But don't worry, you'll also have your privacy as the room is at the entrance of the house. Her place is very peaceful, well located in beautiful Portobello, and her cat Gem is so sweet. It is true that there are some rules to follow in her house (like washing out the cans before throwing them away) and that you'll find little papers reminding you about them, but if you come here to live you will actually learn as soon as you take your own place that these are the rules of the city of Dublin and not of Mim.
If you come to Dublin, let it be for professional or personal reasons, I can only recommend you to stay with Mim as she'll do everything she can to ensure you'll have the best stay!
Exactly what I was looking for, warm, friendly and convenient for everything.
Mim is the best host I've had so far. She will make you feel comfortable and welcome. I've lived there for two months. I was working late hours and Mim would always help me out with the mail, garbage and laundry. Apartment is very nice, clean, comfy and has everything you need. You will have your own towels, big puffy bed and all the furniture. WiFi is working flawlessly. Mim has a cute black cat.
There are noted everywhere on how to use some of the staff. It seems too much but then you realize that those notes are really necessary so you would not forget to close the windows for safety or close the door so cat would not run away.
I highly recommend staying at Mim's.
Wow! What a fantastic spot to stay. Mim lives in the perfect location - nice and close to the main street where all the pubs, shops and cafes as well as grocery stores are. It's also along the canal in Portobello so if you want a nice walk or a relaxing time (provided the weather permits :) it's perfect. Apart from the location, Mim was the perfect host. She was so hospitable it was like a home from home. So chilled out, she's also good for a chat after work. A cute cosy little place and the room was comfortable. Definitely recommend anyone looking to stay here. I'll definitely come back when I travel in Ireland.
Mims rental is a very good place to be. She makes sure that everything is in order and would like to talk to us and I got to teach her as a warm and interested owner who is looking forward to meeting us strangers.
Mim has made sure to have the map of Dublin and would like to help if there is a need for extra in the local area. Besides, she is also prepared to write emails before I arrived and got to teach her good to know before I came to her house.
I can highly recommend Mim
We stayed with Mim for 3 nights and 4 days and had an absolutely wonderful time!!!
Mim is a fantastic woman! She was very cheerful and friendly. She was berry helpful and took time to answer all our questions about the city and getting around it. The room was very comfortable and the apartment is in a comfortable place. we didn't have to take a single bus because everything was walking distance. City center and Temple bar were a 20 minute walk away. :)
We highly recommend staying here.
