A beautifully converted stone barn set in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park on a small, quiet farm above the dramatic Craig Rhos-y-felin, source of some of the Stonehenge bluestones. Moorland and riverside walks from the cottage gate.

We have converted Hafod Wnnog Dairy to form a cosy, quiet cottage in a picturesque location at the foot of the Preseli hills overlooking fields and the wooded valley of Craig Rhos-y-felin, a dramatic rocky outcrop and Neolithic quarry.

The space
This is one of two cottages located on the farm and was originally the farm dairy with the milking parlour adjoining. The building retains the character of the original design with exposed original stone walls and a slate roof with vaulted ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms.

UPSTAIRS
Bedroom 1: double bed, wardrobe and dressing table, bedside cabinets. Vaulted ceiling with dormer window with picturesque views over the garden, field and valley beyond.

Bedroom 2: Two single beds, wardrobe, dressing table and shelves. Vaulted ceiling with dormer window with views over the garden, field and valley beyond.

DOWNSTAIRS
Hall leading to downstairs rooms and stairs
Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with large french doors leading out onto the patio and into the garden. The dining area hosts a large farmhouse dining table and six chairs and an old, rustic Welsh dresser. The lounge has TV with digital Freeview and DVD and is comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well equipped with hand made, fitted rustic wooden units and an electric range cooker with additional work surfaces. There is also a large fridge/ freezer, washing machine and a microwave cooker.
Bathroom: bath and shower, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail
Bedroom 3: Two bunk beds and chest of drawers

OUTSIDE
There is a secure garden behind the cottage with an attractive lawned area backing onto fields and a patio with garden table and seating. A gate from the back of the garden takes you directly out onto the path around the fields. There is ample parking immediately in front of the cottage for up to three cars.

Guest access
Guests will have exclusive access to the whole cottage and garden. There is also direct access to a paths into and beyond a wooded valley which guests can explore at leisure.

There is direct access from the cottage garden to Craig Rhos-y-felin and an extensive range of paths and walks along tranquil river banks or through the purple heather and yellow gorse of this beautiful moorland area. There is also an abundance of wildlife. Badgers and foxes are seen regularly on and around the farm and otters play down at the river. Dolphins and seals can be seen off the nearby coast, and there is a wide variety of birds including red kites, buzzards, kingfishers, woodpeckers and barn owls. On the farm, the owner’s sheep and horses will be grazing in their fields behind the cottage. This is a truly unique location with a fascinating history. Geologists have known since the 1920s that the bluestones were brought to Stonehenge from the Preseli hills but it is only recently that archaeologists have been been able to locate the actual quarries from which they came. Craig Rhos-y-felin, behind the cottage, is one of these.

I am a chartered surveyor and I love old, character buildings and the countryside. The dairy and milking parlour conversion has been a really exciting project for me and my husband. I run a consultancy company from my home office specialising in apprenticeships for young people interested in property and construction and my spare time is spent with my horses. I compete regularly in dressage and eventing but also spend lots of time riding out in the Preseli hills just opposite the cottage. My husband, Paul, will be helping with the cottage so guests will get to know him as well.
