Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as they want. We live right upstairs :)
With multiple organic restaurants and markets in the area, a machine right point break at the end of the street, and some of the worlds only pink sand beaches with living tidal pools, the place is true paradise.
You can rent a car, Jungle Cart, atv, or golf cart :) There are taxis, but everything you could need is within walking distance.
Be respectful and above all, have fun :)
My friend and I spent 4 wonderful days there. The place is clean, very spacious and as described. Both Aric and Camilla are nice and friendly. Aric gave us a lot of good recommendations as to where to eat and what to do in the area. Just ask him any question. Location is very convenient. Walkable to the Pelada beach and several restaurants and bars, although it can get really dusty on the dirt road when cars drive by. They have two puppies that bark quite a bit, so it can get loud from time to time. But overall, we had a great time there. Hope to come back soon!
We're glad Hui and Shelly had such a good time and we are looking forward to hosting them again in the near future. I think it is fair to note that our 2 puppies are currently going through obedience and protection training in order to add another level of security to our accommodations. They bark periodically during the day, but are inside and quiet at night unless there is unusual activity outside. - Aric
Our first visit to Nosara was in December 2014 and we spent 10 amazing days in Playa Pelada at Casa Camilla! Aric and Camilla were wonderful helping us arrange our booking, get oriented and generally made comfortable and at home upon our arrival and throughout our stay! They have obviously put a lot of love and work into the property. It had all the amenities needed for us and our 5 year old daughter. The pool was perfect for a mid afternoon respite from the sun! We found nice organic restaurants, stores and gelato within walking distance. And of course the beautiful Playa Pelada beach. Sleeping to the sounds of distant surf and waking to the howler monkey's and birdsong at dawn...what more could one want? or need? We were even guided to a nearby canopied jungle path that was out of a storybook...filled with brilliantly colored flowers, birds and the highly sought after Blue Morpho butterfly of which graced us with it's beauty x4. No question, this is a place to visit and to return to and Aric and Camilla are the epitome of gracious hosts!
Both Camilla and I were born, raised, and were living in Cocoa Beach, FL when we met in July of 2011. We began visiting Costa Rica together with a trip to Quepos and Manuel Antonio followed by a few weeks in San Antonio, Damas. I had spent a week or so each year since I was twelve in Costa Rica, surfing with my father and marveling at the raw nature, but these trips with Camilla were different. The depth of the culture and the environment was thicker to the air than I had remembered. No longer was I just some surf punk looking for the high induced by adrenaline or some other substance. Now, there was a calmness in my soul that refused to be startled. We were falling in love with the place. Then we returned after one trip to discover that my mother was very ill with colon cancer. She refused chemo and radiation and ended up curing and maintaining herself with nutritional therapy. As this went on, we found ourselves startled by the realization of how toxic our environment in the US had become. The next move seemed so clear: Costa Rica. But we wanted to be sure that uprooting and entirely changing our lives and surroundings would be done for the better. After a disappointing six month real estate search going back to Manuel Antonio, we just wanted our next trip to Costa to be a vacation and not a real estate endeavor. Camilla's passion for an organic lifestyle brought us to Nosara, Playa Pelada and the surrounding area. We spent two weeks near the Boca Nosara river mouth. The experience was incredible and further research and exploring assured us that we were on the mark. From Nicoya to Garza to Guioness to Pelada to Nosara to Ostional and up to San Juanillo we were in a world we had always wanted. Here is a place with clean water, clean air, and nutritious organic food arrived at by community influence and desire to keep out the chemicals and GMOs. The people are kind, the nature is plentiful, the waves are epic, and the local life is pure.
