About This Listing
Incredibly located only metres away from the historic centre of the Etruscan Perugia, this wonderful apartment offers terraces, views and stunning garden.
Just a short distance (100mt) from the ancient “doors” of city of Perugia, this beautiful home is a true jewel. Only newly made available for rental, the apartment is situated on the 3rd (top) floor of a large restored farmhouse with medieval origins.
The apartment has independent access through an external stairwell covered in wisteria.
It is a large apartment (100 square metres) with a spacious bright living/dining room and open kitchen.
Two bedrooms; one with king bed, the other one with twin beds, one 90cm and one 120cm large, each have an en suite bathroom. If you need a baby-cot it is available.
The apartment has an East facing terrace, perfect to enjoy breakfast, and a “covered” West facing terrace, ideal for al-fresco dinners.
All linens for bed/bathroom and for the kitchen will be provided.
The area is very peaceful, set in a green surrounding with flowers and olive trees, although in the middle of town. (I'm very fortunate to live here all year.)
Upon arrival, I will make sure that you'll find all that you need: coffee, milk, sugar, salt, oil, a pack of pasta and tinned tomatoes, bread and jam.
The kitchen is fully equipped with micro-wave, toaster, boiler and coffee-machine.
So do not worry about anything and start enjoying this beautiful heart of Italy.
And upon your return enjoy a bottle of complementary wine.
The apartment is situated at walking-distance to the Universities (Italian Uni.+Uni. for Foreigners) and the city centre.
Within the neighbourhood, at less than 10 minutes’ walk, you’ll find the tennis club, the swimming centre, and the mini metro’, which can easily take you to a number of destinations. A 15 minutes’ drive takes you to the golf courses and the equestrian centre.
Perugia is a stunning town and is also incredibly located. Some of the most beautiful Italian sites are only a short drive/train ride away. From Perugia you can easily do day trips by bus/train/car to: Assisi, Spoleto, Gubbio, Lago Trasimeno, Spello, Siena, Firenze and the National Parc of Monti Sibillini.
I love having guests and will be at your disposition for advice on day-trips, places where to eat and even offer Italian cooking lessons.

Cecilia´s Apartment is really great given that it is so close to the old city of Perugia; in the same time, you have plenty of space and a parking lot right in front of the house in an empty dead-end street. This is a rare combination of assets!
The apartment looks like on the pictures and we felt very much at home. Cecilia has even very welcoming, having organized some coffee and eggs for us for our first breakfast und providing us with plenty of helpful advice, for instance with the suggestion to go to the charming medieval village of Spello. Thank you for this, it would have been a pity missing this!
Cecilia has two dogs and we all like dogs - so this was no issue for us. If you should fear dogs please contact Cecilia before hand in this regard so that she can make sure that her dogs won´t come up to where guests do live.
All in all, we can highly recommend going to Perugia and to stay in Cecilia´s charming flat!
Cecilia is a very welcoming and warm person. The apartment is extremely comfortable and set in a beautiful environment, close to the old city and only minutes to the railway station. Each morning we were greeted by the two friendly dogs. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
I don't even know where to start. The apartment is perfection. It's super clean, inviting, homey, and comfortable. We felt at home the entire time. We loved walking to the market near by and purchasing food to cook in cecilias kitchen. It was stocked with everything we needed. And we so appreciated the food that she provided on arrival. It was nice not having to worry about going out to eat when we were tired from traveling! We loved the doggies that would come up and visit us at times, too! We spent a lot of time on the terrace, eating and relaxing. It was perfection.
Cecilia was amazing too. We were so happy we got to meet her. She was super sweet inviting us to dinner and we had the best time talking with her. She cooks amazingly and it was so much fun to learn about her life and home and about italy! We loved it. The location of the house is pretty convenient too. Close to the market and the mini metro station and of course the piazza :)
Where to start to describe our stay in Perugia! From the first contact with Cecilia, she was so helpful, prompt and approachable with any query prior our arrival. Then on arrival, she collected us from the train station and even presented us with a tasty lasagna at the house, as well as wine, coffee and other provisions! She had a good supply of maps and information on the area and gave us many suggestions on the best places to visit. The home was exactly as the listing described, bright and spacious and beautifully decorated. We had been travelling for over 6 weeks up to this point and to spend the remaining time of our European holiday in this beautiful space, perfectly located for exploring the historic aspect of Perugia and beyond, was ideal. She further made our time in Perugia memorable by inviting us to share a meal in her beautiful home - it was a wonderful personal touch which we really enjoyed. We would highly recommend staying at Cecelia's home to experience everything that is Italy - history, warmth of the people and food!!
Our 5 night stay was perfect from start to finish. Cecilia picked us up at the bus station (very kind of her) & was a perfect host - responsive, yet otherwise invisible. The apt itself is indeed unique, large & bright, tastefully decorated & very quiet - except for the occasional barking dog. Cecilia invited me in for a Limoncello on our last night so I got to see the rest of the house (which was gorgeous) & learn about its history. Our daughter lives in Perugia Centro, way up in the mountains, whereas this place is down in the valley & we might not have experienced this area at all had we not stayed here. With the escalators, our daily walk to meet her was easy & really lovely. A fabulous stay & we hope to go back. Thanks, Cecilia!
About the Host, Cecilia
Ciao! my name is Cecilia and it is now a couple of years that I decided to make the third floor of my home available for rental. I have so much enjoyed this first period of renting, since you have all become personal friends! And some of you have also come back again and again!
I have lived in Perugia for over 40 years and love this corner of the world with its traditions, natural and historical beauty and culinary feasts. Umbria is the Italian region with a perfect balance of great locations, friendly people, good quality of life, safe cities, medieval villages, superb food and wine....a kind of paradise! Perugia is a real jewel, narrow medieval streets, wonderful restaurants, good wine and olive oil, along with hundreds of great locations to visit within less than 30/40 minutes by car/train. If you decide to come here, I will be delighted to suggest itineraries, places to visit and share with you a bit of real Italian life. I would be delighted to also show you how to cook some Italian specialties, as cooking is my passion! Hope to meet you soon, Cecilia
