The cottage is located in a beautiful, secluded part of the West of Ireland but we are lucky to have some local amenities. The front garden runs down to a clean and safe beach suitable for swimming, water sports and walking. The Beach Bar is a 3 min walk from the house and you will find food, traditional music and a great atmosphere. There is also a tiny campsite beside the house that caters mostly to small groups and families. Very nearby are some great surfing spots, Easkey and Stranhill being the most famous. We are also close to the Ox Mountains, a stunning location for cycling and walking.
Sligo town is about a 30 min drive from the house and guests will find a wide variety of activities and places to eat there.
A little further in North Sligo guests can visit Yeats grave and see the stunning landscape that inspired much of Yeats' work.
Unfortunately there is no public transport so guests would have to have/rent a car. Walkers or cyclist are also welcome.
Other Things to Note

The water in the house is not suitable for drinking, but is perfectly safe to cook and wash with.
Kate was a great host - The cottage was really perfect for us - nicely decorated and very comfortable, can't beat the location, we had a marvellous stay!
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Kate was a considerate host. I highly recommend this house for holidaying with children.
Kate was a great host! Information about accessing the house, the key, and the area activities were clear and easy to use. The house was clean and spacious and the kitchen well-equipped. We did a lot of cooking, and used the pizza oven two nights. The beach is fabulous, and the weather was great! Kate even arranged a full moon!
Kate has a book with information about using the wifi, water, heater, recycling, waste removal, etc., which was easy to use and helped us a lot to orient ourselves and really feel at home.
Thank you Kate!
Thank you so much for letting us stay at your lovely place!!!
We had a great time there!
Kate was really communicative and gave us lots of great recommendations and advice, plus there is loads of good information in the house about the area and places to visit. The location of the cottage really is fabulous and we spent lots of long evenings staring out to sea.
It was a lovely house with a spectacular view. 2 night just not enough time spent there. There are local surf lessons and board hire right on the door step. The pub also serves lovely food at very reasonable prices. Loads of local atmosphere. There was a few things not operational at the time but we were warned about it before (website hidden) pizza oven and wifi. But didn't need it anyway.
Kate was super responsive, and made it very easy for us to get to the listing and start enjoying it as soon as possible. The location is unbeatable, and having a tea in the morning looking at the sea through the window made us not want to leave the listing. The pizza oven and the internet are not currently operational, so please check with Kate before booking. We'll be back!
