Interaction with Guests
minimal..but I'm more than happy to to meet you and assist your stay if that is your preference..
Central and strategically located to downtown, South Congress, and all the best of Central Austin. It is in a nice established area with lots to do. Walking distance to close to Buzzmill, Midway Fieldhouse, The Whip In.
There is a great capmetro nightowl bus from downtown that runs late and drops you very close to the house. Taxis are cheap because the location is close in and traffic routes are very favorable for the convention center.
The Golden Rule. Do unto others..
Maximum of 2 cars. No parties. No smoking. Have a great time
I rented Pat's home for 3 of my employees coming to Austin for SXSW. The home was very convenient and a great place to stay for SXSW. Once they got there, and were settled, everything was fine and the girls loved the hammock in the living room.
Leading up to the experience wasn't quite as seamless as I have experienced with AirBnB in the past, which was a little disappointing. Pat was dealing with some personal stuff, so I will cut him some slack, but overall the process was not as smooth as expected with unforeseen costs/charges after the transaction for hotel fees/taxes, inability to drop bags off when arriving in Austin which caused some headaches and rearranging of plans, and it was quite difficult to get in touch the day or two before arriving as we were trying to finalize plans.
Again, I know that he was dealing with some personal issues during this time so it is likely not how he would normally handle a rental and once we arrived everything was great.
I would definitely stay here next time I'm in Austin. It was so nice to have a 2 bedroom house for me and my brother, as opposed to a cramped hotel room. The unit was very clean when we arrived and everything was as-pictured in the Airbnb photos. Pat was available by text the entire trip and prompt to respond to any questions.
+Bigger than a hotel room for the same price.
+2 bedrooms so you can have your own space.
+Close to downtown.
+Close to multiple freeways depending on which way you're going.
+Close to El Taquito (best tacos, get the 'gringa' with carne asada).
+Laundry in unit.
+Heater worked great to warm us up in the chilly nights.
-Located on a relatively busy street, so you may hear cars drive by every few minutes while trying to get to sleep if you're in the 'master bedroom.'
-No TV in living room.

We stayed a week in Austin in Pat's place. If you expect to mostly hang out downtown, around East Austin or South Austin, this location is excellent. East Riverside Drive is your gateway to everywhere, and it is only a block away. The home is clean and spacious, simply but tastefully furnished, AC works great. It has a full-sized kitchen. Though you are a fool to use it with all of the great eats in Austin. OMG I could eat for a month just from all of the food trucks. Have you ever waited two or three hours to buy BBQ from a truck? For Austin's best, you might have to. My new Austin slogan is: Too many trucks, not enough time. Wow, Austin really has become a foode destination. Back to Pat, as soon as you place your reservation you will see how responsive and prompt he is. He made sure through messaging that we found the place without trouble and got settled in. BTW, the home not a duplex, as another previous poster wrote. Last word, GREAT value for the price.
Pat was a gracious host and the house is in a great location. Easy access to get anywhere in Austin. It is a dog friendly place, and I would stay there again.
Great place, centrally located in Austin. We had great accommodations which fit our group perfectly. The living room is large, and the Roku is a great addition to relax after venturing out in Austin. For a first-timer in Austin, it was nice to have so many things accessible from the place, including: food, groceries, and gas.
It felt as if nothing was more than 15 minutes away from Pat's.
