The flat is small but cute and nicely appointed - walking distance from the surf school. Great air conditioning!
The actual hosts, Ricardo and Emril, were extremely lovely people. They were generous enough to show us around when we first arrived and dropped us at the airport since our flight was at 3am and we would have had trouble finding a taxi. They went out of their way on multiple occasions to ensure we had an enjoyable stay and embodied the friendliness we found around the island. The studio itself was perfect for two and the pictures don't do it justice. I would highly recommend staying here despite being slightly out of the way. Getting a car is a necessity on the island as it is anyway.
Ricardo and Emeril were the absolute best hosts ever; they felt like family! Ricardo gave us a lovely tour of the area and some beaches and showed us exactly where to pick up the bus to get around. The studio was great and clean and a nice size for two people. (My sister and I shared the bed, though there was an extra cot that can be pulled out). There's a bathroom, towels, kitchen, balcony, TV, and wireless. The number 11 bus picks up two blocks away and is only $1 (2 Barbados dollars). I agree with some of the other reviews-- It was difficult having Lily as the middleman, as she wasn't very responsive before the trip. But it all turned out okay. I highly recommend staying in this adorable studio on this stunning island!
Brittany, I do sincerely apologize for my delayed response, I was traveling and I did not always have access to wifi. I am usually very responsive, in nearly 120 reviews on airbnb, I have never had a complaint as to response time. I am however very glad that you enjoyed your stay. We hope to see you again one day soon! X
Everything was according to the description. Hosts Ricardo and Emeral are a wonderful couple, they are very helpful.
Location is very suitable for kiters, windsurfers and surfers.
Lily (the person administrating airbnb profile of this apartment) was quick to respond, although the precise address was not given (only the street name) which made finding the apartment rather difficult.
What a find! Ricardo and Emril gave me a very warm welcome when I arrived. Shortly after my arrival, Emril was kind enough to drive me around to orient me as to the bus stop, grocery store, beaches, etc. During my stay, we had some very nice chats, with them genuinely interested in my experiences on the island, and sharing with me tips and ideas for the following day. They really went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed my stay and was comfortable in the apartment. I couldn't have felt more welcome and comfortable there.
The studio apartment is just as pictured. It's very comfortable, with satellite TV, wifi, air conditioning, a large shower, a kitchenette with all necessary appliances, a dining table, and a balcony porch. It's very quiet there and I didn't have any problems sleeping soundly.
The apartment is in a great location. There is a good mini-grocery just a couple of blocks away and a bus stop a couple of blocks away that takes you into Oistin in no time. And, if you are coming here to learn to surf, it's very easy to walk to Zed's Surfing Adventures (where I went) or deAction Surfing. I spent the week here without a vehicle, and did just fine. You will likely want to take a taxi from the airport, unless you've been before and know where you're going. This is perfect for one traveler and would be fine for two if they did not require a lot of individual space, as it is a studio apartment. I would readily stay here again!
