Boston house and hotel is very expensive, so please don't expect condition like hotel with this price. But we provide all the basic living condition and have kitchen available. If you look for your honey moon stay, please keep this place away :) :)
I had a really nice stay in Boston at this apartment. The host was very flexible and supportive in all matters. The place is good situated and 2 min away from the subway and the beach.
Rex is really responsive to calls and messages. The place is close to beach and subway station, a little bit noisy at night , but no big deal. Far from downtown Boston, but by subway is only 20 mins. It is an apartment containing many rooms. The room is simple and can meet basic needs.
I slept deeply thanks to clean sheets and a working fan. This may have been because it is a weeknight. I don't know what weekends would be like at this location. This was the grimiest place I have ever spent the night for $100. It reminded me of $10 hostels in other countries. It would not cost too much of the host's profits to hire a deep cleaning service once a month, and to paint the walls. I was sad because I am accustomed to more pride from Air BnB hosts.
Very convenient location to the T stop and 15 minutes from downtown.
my stay was fine. house was definitely pretty run down, but clean. location was decent right nearby revere beach T stop.
After Rex confirmed that I could check in at 1.30 pm (his listing showed 12 noon checkin) his manager texted me at 1.28 pm. to tell me that I could not come until 4 pm. When my daughters and I arrived at 4.15 pm. the room was still dirty (the manager said he needed to 'sweep it out') and the whole place was a disaster. The neighborhood is sketchy at best. The photos that Rex has listed do not show the actual room. The price $185 per night for two beds - seemed to indicate a reasonable quality level - the actual "Bed and Breakfast" that I saw was completely inferior. While I was on the premises Rex's manager told me that I was not the first person to be totally disappointed with the actual room. I returned to my car and phoned Rex at 4.21 pm. I informed Rex that I would not accept his room - and Rex confirmed that he would not charge me for the 1 night stay that I had booked that morning. About two hours later I received a text message and email from Rex again - confirming that he would not charge me. We are now two weeks later - and after numerous phone calls to AirBnB and emails to AirBnB - the charge of $185 remains on my credit card.
My advise to anyone considering a stay at any of Rex's accomodations is - don't do it.
Postive: We decided to stay at Rex' after our first Boston airbnb reservation got cancelled. Although we sent him a booking request less than 12h upon our arrival, Rex responded quickly with clear directions. Also, we arrived in Boston at 1AM but the whole check-in process went smoothly without any hassle, delay, and problems. Thumbs up for that! The neighborhood doesn't seem to be bad as many described. It's most certainly not upper class Boston, Cambridge, whatnot, but venturing around the neighborhood was definitely not a life threat! The location seems to be off at first sight but the connection is great. It is only a one minute walk to the metro station (blue line) which takes you downtown within 15 minutes. Also Revere Beach is close (3 minute walk).
Negative: 1. Cleanliness. The place is dirty, especially the bathroom. 2. Noise level. Metro is driving by and there's also a music bar in close distance.
We had a fine stay at Rex's place. As the description says, it is nothing fancy, just a place to crash at night when visiting Boston. I was a little hesitant about the neighborhood because of other reviews, but I honestly thought it was fine. I felt safe walking to and from the T line, especially because it is so close. The location is great, it doesn't take long to get wherever you want to go in the city. The house is an older home, and because the price is very reasonable in Boston standards, you can't expect too much luxury. Rex was very helpful, he checked in with me several times to make sure my stay was going well. If I am in the area again, I will definitely stay at Rex's place!

About the Host, Rex
I have been running this bed and breakfast for almost two years now, and I love it! It is always great to hear the various stories that our guests from all over the world have. My place is offering you the basics you need for lodging, this is not intended to be very fancy-- just a convenient place to sleep over and stay. It will be my pleasure to host you. Looking forward to your stay!
