I agree with others that the location really makes this place. It was easy to walk to the Damen L, and there was lots of bars and restaurants in the area too. For being a two bedroom, the rates are much cheaper than a hotel--I understand that. However, the place doesn't look like the photos--there is no coffee table, the bed has been photographed in the living room, when in fact it's in much smaller room without anywhere to put clothes. Really, my only peeve is that no-one really lives here--if they did, there would be some basic things like enough seating for three people (place really could do with an air chair), or a bedside table and beside lighting.
Awesome place and even better location. Very close to the blue line which will take you pretty much every wear . Jeremy was great and easy to work with. Would absouletly stay again.
Jeremy's home was perfect for us, the right size and price and very close to downtown!
Jeremy was a great host who answered questions and my initial request very quickly. The apartment location in Wicker Park was excellent and being located close to transit made travel very easy. Thanks!
Jeremy's house was awesome. fantastic location, so many bars and shops around. the only issue, is that it got super hot in there and we couldn't figure out how to turn it down.
I think the best part of this apartment was the location. The apartment is located close to public transit, shopping, and lots of good food. Jeremy was great to rent from. Communication was quick and clear; we didn't have any problem finding or getting into the apartment.
The apartment has an old hot-water based heating system which makes a lot of noise and the first time it turns on is a little scary. There wasn't a lot of dishes or utensils for cooking/eating, but since there are so many good restaurants in the area this wasn't a big deal.
The area is great and Jeremy is also a nice guy. BUT, you’re reading this because you want the truth…
When we arrived, there was no chair and table. We got our dinner on the floor for the first 2 evening. (I can accept this in a cheap place or in a tent, but not in an apartment at that price in Chicago) Jeremy finally solved the problem…
For the shower: if the shower head could be change? For now, there is no pressure enough. Very difficult to wash yourself quickly!
The building is old and the heating system too: the pipes where the hot water circulates making noise as hell. Enough to wake you up during the night. The floor was clean, but dust is sticking on the ceiling fans and the pipes of the heating system.
With some adjustments, I think the apartment would be good enough… The area is surrounded by different kind of good restaurants, bars, pub and groceries. There is a lot of buses and the subway station is 5 minutes walk!
I’m not complaining for fun. As I was saying, Jeremy was nice and he gave us some infos about the city… I sincerely think that he’ll make adjustments.
12 hours later...
And he did: to "to make up for some of the inconvenience you experienced", he proposed a solution for compensation... And we appreciate it!
What a location! You can walk to all of the wonderful places in Wicker Park from the apartment. There is a lot of space within the apartment and it has a nice big kitchen.
I just spent a lovely week in Chicago and thoroughly enjoyed using Jeremy's place as a base for exploring. The neighbourhood was perfect! Very close to excellent restaurants, bars and shopping, and a few minutes walk from the blue line station. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. Jeremy made self check-in very simple and was quick to respond with any questions. I would definitely stay here again.
Jeremy was a great host and his apartment was in a fantastic part of town, located steps away from great dining and entertainment! We really enjoyed our stay in Chicago and the location definitely added to our experience. I hope that next time we travel to Chicago Jeremy's place will still be available.
