I thought that the place had a very lovely feeling to it. The house is very beautifully laid out. The swimming pool is amazing and the rooms are quite comfortable with AC.
I think that this place is a bit more pricey than other places around here, but worth it if you feel like splurging. They also have cheaper options available on the premises.
The one issue we had was noise. There were several little barking dogs that were not so pleasant to listen to at 6am in the morning. And the maid decided to do some laundry both mornings around 6:30am. The laundry machines were right behind our room. However, Edie made right with us and gave us a refund for one of the nights we stayed there.
Overall, I would recommend this place. But if you want something less expensive, look around. There are plenty of options in the Nosara area.
We had a suite in the big house and it was wonderful. It was nice to have access to the pool, yoga floor, kitchen, and pool table. Air conditioning in the room was great at night. The staff was friendly and helpful, although we were charged for the "free" breakfasts (even after I brought it to the host attention) and I think we paid double taxes or fees. However, these were minor organizational issue amongst the staff and overall we had a great stay.
Edie was an excellent host! She came running up to meet us at the main house and was very welcoming even though we are arrived a couple hours earlier then the check-in time. She is very easy to talk to and very helpful with giving us suggestions of things to do in the area. All the other guest were friendly as well. It was a very relaxed environment and a great place to end our trip.
Edie welcomed us very warmly and tried everything to make us feel like home. The room were a bit overpriced tough, especially with the additional lodging tax that is not included in the price and we were asked to pay it in cash upon arrival.
Andrea, yes I am sorry about the lodging tax but it is required and I always tell people a head of time that it is due in cash upon arrival. If it was added to the airbnb price you would be paying a higher fee as well as the host and then we do not receive the full amount for the tax. I hope this helps. It was nice having you and lodging is a bit higher in this area of Costa Rica.
Thanks for a great stay! The house is awesome and the hosts are both friendly and knowledgeable. Incredible views, we really enjoyed it.
Very nice facility, up high and overlooking a mountainous area. Wonderful breezes. It is a very short drive to a supermarket in one direction, and to Playa Guiones in the other. Our host David was very pleasant and easy to talk to. He gave us lots of advice on where to eat nearby, and his recommendations were spot on.
The pool area behind the house is great. The pool itself is large and is cleaned daily. We especially liked the small corner section which is warmer, due to it being more shallow. It was just the right depth for our 2-year old granddaughter to stand in. However, on the pool deck the chaise lounge covers look faded and old.
The woodwork throughout the house is beautiful.
Our 3 rooms were well designed, with plenty of windows and storage space. Great showers, excellent A/C. (The first night the A/C was drafty, but after I adjusted the louvers it was fine from then on.) Our bed was of average comfort. The window in the bathroom overlooked the pool patio and had no shade or blind, which was odd; from the patio I could easily see my wife brushing her hair. We eventually got used to it.
The included breakfasts were delicious, with plenty of fresh fruit. They were served in a wonderful screened-in room overlooking the pool.
Surprisingly, our room was never cleaned during our 4 day stay. Not sure why. It must have been an oversight. It was not a major problem, however.
I had an absolutely amazing stay. David was such a great host and helped make our stay extremely memorable. I look forward to staying here again at the end of the year. This was one of the best vacations I've ever been on thanks to our stay.
