Roomy Victorian home, 10 minutes walk from the city centre.
Built as a home for senior British army officers and their families in the late 19th century. By modern standards our home is very large with high ceilings and the original fireplaces in most bedrooms. As we have both a double room and a twin bedded room four people can comfortably stay
The sitting room and garden. These areas are used by our own family and you are welcome to enjoy these areas with us.

Interaction with Guests
We will interact with our guests as much as they would like. Yes, we will be at the house during visits by guests. My children and l prepare a delicious breakfast for our guests with fresh fruit salad, juice, free range eggs from a farm in Schull, West Cork, my homemade jams with brown bread, tea and coffee. We want our guests to have a relaxing and pleasant stay and offer the benefit of local knowledge of Cork city and beyond.
My teenage kids are also available to babysit if required.
Our neighbourhood has a village feel although only minutes from the city centre. In the area there are some great pubs such as the landmark Henchys Pub. Also there is a wine bar which also does good food, a delicatessen, a chemist, post office, a butcher and a Chinese restaurant. Most of the houses in our area are Victorian or Edwardian and accordingly are listed as an Area of Special Conservation.
Only 5 minutes from our house, there is a bus stop which takes you into the city centre if you do not want to walk the short distance! There is also a train station 10 minutes away which takes you to areas such a Cobh and Midleton, and has connections nationwide. One can get from the airport to our home by bus to the city centre or a taxi which would cost between 15 and 20 euro. Off street parking is also available at our home in our driveway.

I had a lovely weekend staying with Fiona and family. The house is spacious, tidy and well looked after and from the moment I arrived I was made to feel at home. Thoroughly reccomended!
We really liked this place, has lots of character and in a beautiful part of Cork. The beds and duvets are really comfortable and there's electric blankets if you get cold.
Fiona is a very interesting and friendly person, also a great cook with some help from her teenage daughter. Only 10 min walk to town.
Very good experience! Super friendly, nice house. Looked just like the picture.
Fiona was extremely kind and gracious, and a beautiful home with an equally beautiful view! Made us breakfast in the morning and everything! Highly recommended!
Our stay was lovely. Fiona was a great hostess and helped us map out our day over breakfast. The room was a little chilly but we had a very nice sleep. Overall it was a good experience
Fiona was a lovely host. Her house is a fantastic art filled space in central cork with superb views of the city. I will be recommending that any of my own guests who may be traveling South make a stop over with Fiona.

I am a university graduate with a diverse range of interests. I love taking exercise particularly walking, gym classes and tennis. I am a keen cook with about 200 hundred cookbooks at this stage! I am a very sociable person with thankfully plenty of friends. One of my favourite things to have people over for supper with plenty of conversation, music and wine! I live with my son and daughter who have grown to enjoy meeting guests through Airbnb since we had our first guests in June 2014.
