Wonderful spacious home only 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Your room has an amazing view over the city with twin beds and electric blankets. We are situated in a quiet cul-de-sac yet near to great pubs and restaurants. You will love it!
Roomy Victorian home, 10 minutes walk from the city centre.
Built as a home for senior British army officers and their families in the late 19th century. By modern standards our home is very large with high ceilings and the original fireplaces in most bedrooms. As we have both a double room and a twin bedded room four people can comfortably stay
The sitting room, kitchen and garden. These areas are used by our own family and you are welcome to enjoy these areas with us.

We will interact with our guests as much as they would like. Yes, we will be at the house during visits by guests. My children and l prepare a delicious breakfast for our guests with fresh fruit salad, juice, free range eggs from a farm in Schull, West Cork, my homemade jams with brown bread, tea and coffee. We want our guests to have a relaxing and pleasant stay and offer the benefit of local knowledge of Cork city and beyond.
My teenage kids are also available to babysit if required.
Our neighbourhood has a village feel although only minutes from the city centre. In the area there are some great pubs such as the landmark Henchys Pub. Also there is a wine bar which also does good food, a delicatessen, a chemist, post office, a butcher and a Chinese restaurant. Most of the houses in our area are Victorian or Edwardian and accordingly are listed as an Area of Special Conservation.
Only 5 minutes from our house, there is a bus stop which takes you into the city centre if you do not want to walk the short distance! There is also a train station 10 minutes away which takes you to areas such a Cobh and Midleton, and has connections nationwide. One can get from the airport to our home by bus to the city centre or a taxi which would cost between 15 and 20 euro. Off street parking is also available at our home in our driveway.

Fiona was wonderful and her home is very beautiful, and historic. The room has a great view of the city and its a 10min walk to buses and trains. The house was cold, it snowed, but she is a great hostess providing bed heaters to keep us warm and comfortable. Also, her cooking is fantastic! Thank you for sharing your home and beautiful family.
Fiona was a truly terrific host and made me feel right at home! The house is a lovely old home just up the hill from the city center, and the bedroom I was in had a lovely view of the city.
Prior to my arrival she was easy to communicate with and responded quickly.
Fiona was there to welcome me when I arrived, and had lots of information, maps, and helpful advice for my first time to Cork.
I'll definitely stay with Fiona again if I'm back in the area!
Fiona was a wonderful host and her home is a unique and lovely place to stay, quiet and with a great view of Cork's city center. Room is spacious and cozy. Fiona's breakfasts are thoughtful and lovingly laid out. Thank you for a great airBnB experience!
Great place in a beautiful location. The only negative would be the shower has no pressure - don't expect to wash your hair here. Host was very friendly and provided cold cereal and bread for breakfast.
The house is beautiful, Fiona's lovely, and the breakfasts are amazing. Drawbacks are that the shower isn't great and it was quite chilly (though it was November, and an electric blanket meant I was very cosy in bed)

I am a university graduate with a diverse range of interests. I love taking exercise particularly walking, gym classes and tennis. I am a keen cook with about 200 hundred cookbooks at this stage! I am a very sociable person with thankfully plenty of friends. One of my favourite things to have people over for supper with plenty of conversation, music and wine! I live with my son and daughter who have grown to enjoy meeting guests through Airbnb since we had our first guests in June 2014.
