Come hang out at our guest house and wander Alberta Street...it's a cornucopia of funky and independent shops, galleries, bars & restaurants. Every Last Thursday, we have a freewheeling art festival on the street. Last Thursday is a rich tradition where it's free to vend and attend. You'll see washboard bands, teen violinists, Native American drumming circles, fab art and funky attire right outside our front door!
We are on several major bus lines and one block from a designated biking boulevard. By car we are 10 minutes from the airport, Lloyd Center Mall, Convention Center and Light Rail and less than 15 minutes to downtown Portland.

I had a great time! The house was beautiful, and the neighborhood was great. I only met Rochelle briefly, but everything I heard from the other guest was great. Also, speaking of other guests, I met some amazing people while staying here!
I had a wonderful stay at Alberta Arts! The bed was comfy, the kitchen provided everything I needed, everything was clean, and overall it was a great place to "come home to" after a long day of walking around! I'd definitely stay there again and can recommend it to everyone looking for a place to stay in Portland!
This was a really lovely place to stay. The house was clean, warm and cozy and was located in a great neighbourhood close to the bus stops, cafes and shops. Rochelle and Phoenix were very welcoming and helpful. Thanks!
This was a great place to stay and explore the Alberta District. Everything was clean and felt secure and, while semi-hostel like, it still felt "homey". Thanks Rochelle!
Great experience. Place was clean, and linens were soft. Host was accommodating.
I was lucky enough to meet Rochelle on my way out. This is a beautiful house, great location. I would not hesitate to stay here again given the opportunity!

I've lived all over Portland, but after planting roots in the Alberta Arts district a nearly a decade ago, I can't imagine living anywhere else. Even in a city known for 'different', Alberta pushes the free- and forward-thinking envelope just a little bit further.
Our house is in a great spot--so close to fab food, art, yoga, and shopping for all budgets. (Don't forget to stop off for a slice of Random Order pie!) We've got our own local bike rental and public transportation options within 1 to 2 blocks.
Portland is rich in beautiful natural spots and diverse cultural offerings.Must visits on my list include the Gorge waterfalls and Powells books - the ultimate planetary bookstore (at least in this galaxy).
I think one of the best parts of traveling is feeling comfortable wherever you land. When I'm on the road, I steer toward cheerful, friendly spots with just the right mix of privacy and community. Living in England cemented my fondness for guest houses. Those happy stays in cozy homes primed me to seek out similar lodgings when I travel.
I love being able to open our house to the fabulous folk who find their way to us. I look forward to meeting you and hearing some of your stories. Welcome!
